He portrays an ideal media mogul in his latest film 'Rann' but Amitabh Bachchan hopes the media does not come after him after watching the movie.
The 67-year-old actor plays the role of a media baron Vijay Harshvardhan Malik in the movie who fights for upholding journalistic principles.
"I just hope you don't beat me up after watching the movie. As far as my role is concerned I think I have done justice with it in the film," Bachchan said talking to reporters at the film's red carpet premier here on Thursday.
'Rann's release coincides with the release of 'Ishqiya' that stars Vidya Balan, Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Varsi.
Incidentally, Vidya played mother to Big B in is last film 'Paa'.

Meanwhile, Verma insisted that the film is not about media bashing and does not present the entire media industry in negative light.
"The film is not about media bashing, it just shows the rise of media and how business and politics affect its transparency. The potential is scary and that is what the film explores. I love the film and I hope the audience loves it too," Verma said.
Apart from Verma and Big B, the premier was also attended by the megastar's son Abhishek Bachchan, his wife actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and other actors from the movie including Ritesh Deshmukh and Gul Panag.
"Whenever my dad and Ram Gopal Verma come together they create something memorable for the audience, I think 'Rann' will be a very good film that you will enjoy," Abhishek said.
