"The family that jams together, stays together," says Sajid who is almost as famous for his wisecracks as he is for his music. His brother and his musical better half Wajid couldn't agree more. CS catches up with the duo who has recently composed the music for Veer, and witnesses their brotherly squabbles that usually translate into some great music:

WHO: Music directors Sajid-Wajid
WHAT: Talking about Veer's music and the bond that they share
WHERE: Ashok Honda Studios, Versova

Having a ball
You would expect the duo to be busy with some music project, but it is cricket that is occupying them these days. They've been sweating it out practising for an upcoming match between singers and music directors that is to happen on January 28. And Wajid, who is the captain of the music directors' team, is quick to tell us that, "We've been winning since the last five years." The cricket fever is evident as Sajid digresses into another hot topic of discussionu00a0-- Veer. "With that film, humne apni ball pe chakka mara hai (We've hit a six with that project)," he jokes.

You don't hear the Mughal-e-azam music anymore and some of the instruments that were popular then are now redundant." Adds Wajid, "While adhering to the history, we also had to ensure that our music turned out to be contemporary. And, we've got great feedback for it."

Brother act
We get a taste of their jugalbandi as the two break into song frequently during the interview. "This is how we compose our music. We jam up, have discussions, argumentsu00a0-- but that works for us," says Sajid. He explains, "We don't overshadow each other. We're very different and that's the fusion in us." Wajid concurs, "We don't have any formalities between us.

Since we've grown up together, we understand each other really well." But that doesn't mean that the two don't have the typical sibling fights. Sajid jokes, "When we don't see eye to eye, I remind him that I'm older, hence wiser, and that God destined it to be that way." A bemused Wajid adds, "He's always cashed in on that fact!"

And while Wajid gets busy on his phone, Sajid is happy to be holding the court. He talks about his cameo role in Wanted, his upcoming project and his love for parties. Wajid regains interest in the discussion as he signs off, "We're here to party. We don't want to die having lived a boring life!"
