According to a source cited by Bollywood Life, "Ranbir and Alia are both equally investing their hard-earned money to make their dream house. The house will cost more than Rs 250 crore once it's all done This will become the most expensive bungalow in the Mumbai area compared with Shah Rukh Khan's Mannat and Amitabh Bachchan's Jalsa." "Neetu Kapoor will be the co-owner of the bungalow as late actor Rishi Kapoor had made her the half-owner of all his properties. Having said Neetu ji herself is supremely financially stable and recently bought a lavish house worth 15 crores in the Bandra area itself. It is also speculated that after the bungalow is ready the entire 'Kapoor Khandaan' will stay together under one roof," the insider further added,  On the work front, Ranbir Kapoor is currently enjoying the success of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s "Animal". Kangana Ranaut and Shah Rukh Khan

Kangana Ranaut compares herself with Shah Rukh Khan, makes bold statement

Kangana Ranaut has been dominating the headlines ever since she announced her entry into politics. After Kangana joined hands with the BJP party for the 2024 Lok Sabha election, several people called her out and said that her decision was because her films don't work anymore. Reacting to all such claims, the controversy queen has made yet another bold statement, and this time she has compared herself with none other than Shah Rukh Khan. King Khan had a blockbuster comeback in 2023 with his action thriller Pathaan. Using his few flops as the basis of her argument, Kangana Ranaut, during the Times Now Summit, said, “Poore world mein aisa koi nahi hai. Shah Rukh Khan ki 10 films nahi chali, phir Pathaan chali. Meri 7-8 saal koi film nahi chali, phir Queen chali, phir 3-4 saal baad Manikarnika chali. Now, Emergency is releasing next, you never know, maybe it will work wonders at the box office." As if drawing comparisons was not enough, the actress went on to say that she and Shah Rukh are “the last generation of stars” as OTT cannot make stars. “We are known faces and by the grace of God, we are very much in demand. But I want to involve myself with the real world as opposed to just being consumed by the field of arts,” Kangana added. Kangana Ranaut election Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has officially taken the plunge into politics. The Bharatiya Janata Party's 5th list of candidates for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections features Kangana's name alongside 111 other candidates. Kangana Ranaut and Shah Rukh Khan

Have you heard? Delulu at its peak?

Tackling the criticism she faced after announcing her decision to join politics, Kangana Ranaut hit back at trolls who claimed that the development stemmed from her choice to change careers after a string of box-office failures. Stating that she is ‘very much in demand’ in the film industry, Ranaut said, “No one in the whole world faces such situations. Shah Rukh Khan had no successful films for 10 years, then Pathaan worked. I had no successful films for eight years, then Queen worked, followed by Manikarnika. Even now, there might be a very successful hit. Nowadays, this doesn’t happen’’. She reportedly called herself and Khan the ‘last generations of stars’ and opined that OTT cannot produce stars. “We are known faces, and by the grace of God, are very much in demand.”  Baddie again Bobby Deol is set to play the antagonist in Alia Bhatt’s upcoming spy film. In the upcoming yet-untitled film, Bhatt plays an agent. The movie, also starring Sharvari, will be the seventh offering in the spy universe created by Yash Raj Films, after Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, Tiger 3 and War 2. It is reportedly set to go on floors later this year. Deol had previously played the bad guy in Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal.  Then and now Rasika Dugal, who gained visibility with her appearances in shows like Mirzapur and Delhi Crime, said that given a chance to be an actor in another time zone, she would opt for the 1960s. “Otherwise this [current time] is the next best option,” she said. Speaking at a film festival, she said, “When I started working after graduating in late 2006, a R 1 crore-film had become ‘the thing’. Things started turning digital, in terms of the shooting equipment. The cost of production had gone down. There were smaller films which were being made at that time. I thought that was an interesting time for an actor like me to come into the industry. If I want to be an actor in another time, it would be the ’60s. Otherwise, this is the next best option.” Wanna feel old? If the moment you spent as a ’90s kid admiring Hrithik Roshan in Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai doesn’t seem like an ‘old affair’, this news will come as a surprise—Roshan’s son, Hrehaan, is now an adult! The youngster celebrated his 18th birthday in Goa in the company of family, as per images shared on social media. Roshan’s ex-wife, Sussanne Khan, along with  the actor’s current girlfriend, Saba Azad, were at the do. Zayed and Farah Ali Khan were also spotted.   On his biggest failure Boman Irani opened up about his favourite failure. During a film festival, Irani said, “Every week, there is one failure. My naivety is in full bloom, even at the age of 64. And that naivety is the only thing that helps me succeed and fail.” Speaking of the incident, he said, “I was walking around with my script, doing a lot of legwork to get people interested in it, or rather, to be believers. People used to say, ‘I can’t reference this story’, and I would say, okay. They are not believing; it’s fine; I respect those people. So everybody passed. And [I knew that] when they get it, they will get it. I don’t like playing the victim. It’s the worst thing you can do to yourself—play the victim.” On pregnancy claims Always on the receiving end owing to her figure, Parineeti Chopra decided to address claims relating to her pregnancy. After social media users claimed that they were certain that the actor was pregnant after spotting her at a promotional do, Chopra took to Instagram to write: “Kaftan dress= pregnancy, oversized shirt= pregnancy, comfy Indian kurta= pregnancy.” Her post evidently aimed at highlighting that regardless of what she chooses to wear, netizens will continue to claim she is in the family way. Chopra had previously said that she had gained weight for a film.  He says, she says A day after reports of them being married hit headlines, Aditi Rao Hydari took to social media to share that she and actor Siddharth were engaged. Sharing a picture of them flaunting their engagement rings, Hydari wrote, “He said yes. Engaged.” Apart from congratulating the duo for the development, social media users complimented Hydari for “setting standards” as she alluded to the fact that she proposed to him. The news of their marriage was reportedly shared by the host of an event where Hydari’s presence was expected. It was claimed that she got married on Wednesday. “So, we will congratulate her from here,” the host said.  Ab bhi Basanti? The shadow of Basanti still looms large and Hema Malini, who references her role as the feisty tonga puller from the 1975 classic Sholay in many of her rallies, says candidly that she may never come out of it. The cinema icon and BJP MP is currently seeking a third Lok Sabha term from Mathura. “I will never come out of the Basanti shadow. It will always be there. I was born with that. I have done 200 films and people still remember me as ‘Sholay ki Basanti’ or from Seeta Aur Geeta and Baghban. I tell everyone that I am three in one—a film artiste, a dancer, and a politician,” she said.

Arjun Kapoor, Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh

Single ticket, double entry

Twenty years is a long gap between a movie and its sequel. But we’re not complaining as director Anees Bazmee has put No Entry Mein Entry, the sequel to his 2005 laugh riot No Entry, back on the table and plans to roll it next year. Last month, it was reported that it would star Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor and Diljit Dosanjh instead of original cast Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor and Fardeen Khan. Now, we hear the second part will be a case of double trouble—Dhawan, Arjun and Dosanjh will be seen in double roles, which will be the source of confusion and comedy in the narrative. Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan and Fardeen Khan in No Entry Producer Boney Kapoor and the director had finalised No Entry Mein Entry’s script as early as 2019. However, over the past five years, the two were unable to get the comedy off the ground due to casting and date issues. A source close to the project reveals, “Earlier, there was talk of Salman, Fardeen and Anil doing the sequel. While that did not materialise, they have now been replaced by Arjun, Varun and Diljit. The trio will step into the roles played by the original stars in the 2005 film that revolved around three philandering men, but it will be an entirely new setting and fresh dynamics. The double roles and mix-ups will add to the film’s humour. Varun, Arjun and Diljit loved the script, and are eager to explore their on-screen camaraderie.” Anees Bazmee The next obvious question is: who will be the leading ladies? That will have to wait as Bazmee is currently busy shooting Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, and will begin casting for the female leads only after the horror comedy’s release. The source adds, “A few months ago, rumours were rife that the second part would feature 10 actresses, including Kriti Sanon, Kiara Advani, Disha Patani and Rashmika Mandanna. But the script has been tweaked since then. Anees will zero in on the leading ladies by the year-end and take the film on floors by early 2025.” Apparently, producer Boney, who is busy with Maidaan, is keen to release No Entry Mein Entry in 2025 to mark 20 years of the original.

A still from the film

Ananth Mahadevan: ‘Many actors let go of the part’

How do you play a character you despise? Approach it without judgment, and remain honest to the story. That is how Ananth Mahadevan played a sexually abusive father in Yes Papa, directed by Saif Hyder Hasan. Walking into the role, the senior actor knew that it would take an emotional toll on him. “I am told many actors let go of the part. It’s eerie to play such a character. But as an actor, it’s your job to look for challenges,” starts Mahadevan. His apprehension regarding the role was outweighed by the need to shed light on the issue. “You do the film because the subject needs to be highlighted. To some extent, the role scared me, but [you overcome it].”  What helped him in his portrayal was having a supportive director and the knowledge that the film had the right intent. “The reason why I could pull off the four scenes that depict abuse is because the director handled them sensitively. The idea and intention wasn’t to entice. The abuse is never depicted; you leave it to the audience to understand.”  It’s not often that mainstream films deal with such pressing subjects. Mahadevan says that through his role, the movie highlights how seemingly innocent-looking men can be capable of heinous acts. “We had to fight stereotyping. The character is soft-spoken, sings and doesn’t look menacing. He is your typical man-next-door. We tried to give him touches of a regular man who is capable of monstrous things.” Yes Papa, which also stars Geetika Tyagi, was recently screened for the National Human Rights Commission.

Still from Crew

'Crew' writer duo say, 'Viewers may watch the film three times'

The biggest commercial family entertainer of the year, 'Crew', is all set to release in the cinemas on Friday. While the buzz for the film is all-time high, on and off social media, the biggest center of attraction for the film is the ensemble casting of the leading talented actresses, Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Kriti Sanon.  Ever since the announcement, the audiences have been waiting to watch this sensational trio on the big screens, and now, taking the excitement to the next level, the writer duo Mehul Suri and Nidhi Mehra have shared their excitement and idea about pulling off this ensemble casting for the film. Sharing the details, the writer duo said, "Crafting a multi-generational ensemble was truly exhilarating for us. The synergy among the actresses was simply breathtaking, making the film a visual feast. Their performances are so intricately woven that viewers may find themselves watching them three times over just to fully appreciate each actress's contribution. It's a testament to the beauty and depth of the storytelling." In this underdog story, three flight attendants, who have not been paid for months as the airline is on the verge of bankruptcy, devise their own means to make money. Director Rajesh A Krishnan tells Mid-day, “Three meek air-hostesses go from hum kya hi kar lenge to maloom hai, hum kya kar sakte hai?” But the director promptly points out that it’s more than a crime film. At a time when there have been multiple instances of airline staff being treated disrespectfully by entitled passengers, he hopes Crew will make viewers rethink their behaviour before they get on their next flight. “They say namaste, wear a smile, and have to be nice to you. That doesn’t mean they should be snapped at and asked, ‘Where is my alcohol?’ I have been surrounded by so many sassy women, and they’ve raised me well. I don’t take basic human dignity for granted. Here is a story of three mature people fighting [the odds] with their brains. These three women are done taking nonsense.” “Nothing convinces harder than good humour. I don’t have it in me to sell a movie as female-centric. I don’t know what that genre is. Everyone wants to know the story, and a story like this is gender-agnostic. To me, Kareena, Tabu and Kriti are no different from Shah Rukh [Khan], Salman [Khan] and Aamir [Khan]. The story is about three underdogs," he added.

Jaya, Shweta and Navya

Jaya Bachchan gives sound advice to Navya Nanda

In the latest episode of 'What The Hell Navya' the trio of Navya Naveli Nanda, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, and Jaya Bachchan discuss making mistakes and what they learnt from those mistakes. The conversation revolves around Navya's experiences in advocating for women's rights.  Navya openly discussed her experiences with concerns about her ability to handle difficult situations due to her age. However, Jaya Bachchan wisely corrects her, pointing out that knowledge and experience are not the same thing. She encourages Navya to trust her instincts and continue doing her work, “is tarah ke soch ko apne andar lana aur iss tarah ke soch ke upar kaam karna uske liye experience ki zaroorat nahi hai. Voh dil aur dimag ki baat hoti hai. Aur jo aap jo keh rahe hai aur jo aapko keh rahe hai unse kaho Keep Quiet! ye sab baatein aap sunke ansuna kar dijiye. Jo aap kar rahi hai bahot acha kar rahi hai aur usko aap karte rahiye aur zor se kariye” she stated.  Navya finds comfort in Jaya Bachchan’s support, as Jaya gives a reminder to Navya that while criticism is unavoidable, one should never stop pursuing their goals, she says “kuch toh log kahenge logo ka kaam hai kehna”.  Jaya Bachchan on being a protective parent: On the show, Jaya said, “We were more protective because we didn't know any better. That's what we were taught, that's how we were brought up. You (Shweta) have been brought up, you will bring up your children even more differently".  Shweta echoed her thoughts and said, “A lot of times, people don't learn from other people's experiences. They have to learn from their own experiences. You have to give your children a chance to make those mistakes. It's actually, literally like putting your children out there or letting them go is like taking your heart out and putting it on the table. Because your every instinct is ‘I don’t want them to get hurt. This is maybe not a right person. This is maybe not a right direction they're going in,' but it's very difficult to say, ‘Okay, I’ll let you do it.' I think it's the best thing you can do for your child that you can let them make their own mistakes. Because they will gain experience.” Navya Naveli Nanda hosts the popular vodcast, “What The Hell Navya" vodcast. Where three generations come together to share their opinions and discuss a range of topics.
