Newly-married Lisa Haydon is upset over people referring to her in-laws as Pakistanis. Her father-in-law, business magnate Gulu Lalvani, was born in Karachi.
Like several other Sindhis, he migrated to Mumbai during Partition and secured Indian citizenship. He later left for Britain while studying. Lisa tweeted last morning, "To call someone who has gone through the struggles of Partition non-Indian is absurd."
Considering the current Indo-Pak hostility, it looks like Lisa does not want to draw any backlash.
