Returns to introduce family to the friends he made there

Madhavan takes off for a Canadian holiday with wife Sarita and son Vedant on January 17. The actor is taking time off from his shoots for a purpose. Though he has visited the country several times, this trip is special as it is to introduce his family to the Canadian ties he forged two decades ago.

"Alberta is known for its local rodeos and cowboys. So I am off on the cowboy trail yet again. And as this time of the year, it will be freezing there, I am also hoping to indulge in some skiing as well," he adds.

After Canada, Madhavan takes off for the Sundance Film Festival in Utah in the US later this month. "I don't have any of my films being showcased there. I will be attending as a cinema lover." His 3 Idiots co-star Aamir Khan's production Peepli Live is being premiered at the fest. "I will be there to cheer him," he says.

On his return, he immerses himself in the promotions of his next flick, Teen Patti, which releases February-end.

Three thrill
"Of late all my films have something to do with the numeral three. In 2009, I began with the horror flick 13B and ended the year with 3 Idiots. And now I have Teen Patti coming up. I'm not into numerology at all but it is a happy coincidence."

Madhavan also features in the comedy Tanu Weds Manu with Kangna Ranaut besides his Tamil film commitments.
