Mahesh Bhatt has been spending a lot of time, especially weekends, at daughter Pooja's farmhouse in Kalote, which is on the old Mumbai-Pune highway. He has also turned animal lover and is often spotted at rescue worker Sameer Vohra's animal shelter in the vicinity.
With over 160 animals, which include cats, dogs, donkeys and birds, the veteran filmmaker has now turned crusader for animal rights. Bhatt's younger daughters, Alia and Shaheen, are also animal lovers and are known to adopt stray cats. Alia's pet cat, Edward Bhatt, also has an Instagram account and is counted among Bollywood's top celebrity pets.
