A source says, "Malaika lives with their son. All this while she was using Arbaaz's surname and had never objected to it. But recently at an event when the host was about announce her entry on stage she apparently requested the organisers not to add Khan in her name."

It is said that the host was bit surprised to know this as the organisers had provided the script with her full name. A source says," At last moment the changes were made and the announcement was made as per Malaika's wish."
