His lyrics and dialogues in Baahubali 2 have been lauded, but Manoj Muntashir says writing for the Hindi version of the film was challenging. "The greatest challenge was to match the lips and still maintain the narrative. It felt like someone had tied my hands and legs, and asked me to participate in a swimming competition. SS Rajamouli (director) challenged my skill. I gave my 200 per cent to achieve what was once considered unattainable," he says.

Muntashir wanted the dialogues to sound genuine. "Dialogues like, 'Devsena ko haath lagaya to samjho Bahubali ki talwar ko haath laga diya' and 'Aurat par haath uthane waale ki ungliyaan nahin kaat-te, gala kaat-te hain' could only catch the fancy of the Hindi audience because they were written from a Hindi mindset. While writing the lyrics, I had full liberty with the background songs. Jay Jay Kara was the most soul-satisfying song," he says.
