It's summer and what better place to soak up the sun but Miami. Fashion designer Michelle Salins is doing just that and more. She is in the American hub tou00a0 showcase incredible India at the Miami Fashion Week on March 20. She tells CS, "This is my first time at the international fashion week and I'm really excited about it. I'm already at Miami and I've just finished with the fittings at the event."
Michelle's new collection seeks to fuse India's enthicity with the West's oomph. "My theme is 'The Jewel Tones of India' and I've chosen rich jewel colours accented with gold and silver. My silhouettes are very fitted with western influenced cuts however the embroidery and embellishment are completely Indian with Swarovski and chez crystal, bead and sequin work. I've also extensively used the popular Indian zardosi hand embroidery. All this I believe emphasise India's harmony with the West." Well Michelle, we hope your designs are a cut above.
