What's it about: It's that Jennifer Aniston again! You might remember her from the oh-so-different romantic comedies like The Break-Up, He's Just Not That Into You, Love Happens, and finally, a film that explains her current state of mind ufffd Derailed. And he's that guy who spewed venom in 300 and made "This is Sparta!" the punchline for toddlers playing warfare games in the backyard. Gerard 'check my stubble' Butler has had his fair share of mishaps with P.S. I Love You and The Ugly Truth. In The Bounty Hunter, Aniston and Butler unite to play an odd-ball couple ufffd one facing a felony charge for missing a court date while the other's a bounty hunter put on the former's trail. While watching their attempts at one- upmanship, you can't help but feel sorry. It's supposed to be a story of second chances, but ends up being a disdainful take on marriage.
What's hot: It's a C-grade romcom, so if you like watching two lead actors past their prime trying to make it work, then it might serve some purpose.
What's not: Wasn't Butler labelled a sex symbol post his 12-pack act in 300? Whatu00a0 happened to that? As the scruffy, pudgy Milo Boyd who talks in a lisp, sexy isn't the right adjective. Watching him suffer bad dialogues and tackle corny situations (being handcuffed to a bed is so 1995) makes you feel bad for an actor who has a stellar screen presence given the right premise. Aniston makes several attempts to put some life into her character, but the fake tan and the straight hair overshadow such a futile exercise. Most of the scenes where the pair pulls a fast one on each other falls flat and evokes no reaction. It's clear the lead actors have starred in this misadventure to take home a fat paycheque and nothing else.
