Life at the moment is extremely busy for me -- there's Araaish, an exhibition to raise funds for Save The Children India next week, a store opening in Kolkata and then a trip to the Middle East for a trade show. I've been putting together jewellery pieces with a lot of colour because of the festive season. You'll see that though there's no trend in jewellery at present, party pieces and bridal wear embellished with stones and diamonds are much in demand.
Hues who
I love jewellery that's classic and timeless, something that's evergreen. And this is what reflects in my brand. Personally too I like to wear good quality, solid pieces. To me, less is more. The understated look will always create an impact. Plain diamonds are not my style. I like to team them up with coloured stones; the piece ends up looking extremely interesting. Even where dressing up is concerned, I don't go over the top.
Bagging it
But yes, I have a confession to make. I have a fetish for handbags. Chanel is my all-time favourite. And my taste for classic stuff even extends to the type of bags I pick up; nothing funky for me. There was a time when I'd shop like crazy, but today shopping is just a necessity. But I do indulge once in a while and a bag will definitely find a place in my indulgences (smiles).
Take a break
I have no plans at present to return to acting; my jewellery business keeps me busy and happy enough. But once in a while I crave for some 'me' time. That's when I want to be completely alone. Watching television, reading or going for massages is what I love doing when I'm on my own. Otherwise, spending time with friends and trips to my brother's place in New York are my ideal way of unwinding. And, I'm never averse to a trip to London, though I've been there countless times!
