Raavana to premiere at Cannes?

Mani Ratnam's Raavana, starring Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan may premiere in Cannes Film Festival rather than at the IIFA Awards. Mani has plans to take it to Cannes, which is scheduled to begin on May 14, while IIFA is scheduled to be held at Seoul in July. The decision is not much of a surprise as Cannes is a bigger platform for the film than IIFA, but Mani's decision has raised eyebrows as Abhishek's dad Amitabh is closely associated with IIFA and it was expected that the film would premiere at the awards function.
