So now it is official. Salman Khan will star in Karan Johar's production Shhuddhi. KJo put all speculation to rest by tweeting yesterday, “SHHUDDHI will star SALMAN KHAN and will release Diwali 2016."

Looks like the long-in-the-planning project has finally taken off with a numerologically correct title. Directed by Karan Malhotra, the film was initially announced with Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor. Later, Hrithik opted out and Bebo followed suit.
This led to a great deal of speculation that several other leading actors were being approached. There was also the buzz that the project had been shelved, but now that it is back on track there is a great deal of curiosity who will be Sallu’s female co-star.
