Actor Sanjay Dutt's wife Maanayata, who was diagnosed with a tumour in the liver and a heart ailment in December last year, was admitted to Global Hospital in Parel on Tuesday

According to her doctor, she was brought in for her medical check-up and a battery of tests.

According to family friends, she was brought to the hospital after she collapsed at home. They said she was suffering from water retention in a lung. Dr Ajay Chaughule confirmed that the actor’s wife had been admitted on the morning of January 7. “There are all kinds of tests that she has to undergo but I cannot comment on anything right now. She is still with us in the hospital,” he said.
