Twenty pairs of eyes are on the crown as pretty-young-things from across the country battle it out for the most prestigious title around -- The Wadhawan Lifestyle I AM She 2011. In its second year, the platform is bigger, better, bolder, having pulled in a whopping 1,800 entries. After a gruelling round of auditions judged by a panel of experts including Jackky Bhagnani, Aditi Gowitrikar, Joy Datta and Sushmita Sen herself, twenty girls are finally ready to take centre stage as they prove to themselves and the country that they have the potential to take on the world through the Wadhawan Lifestyle I AM She 2011 platform.

Conceptualised by Sushmita, the pageant that is the official preliminary to the 2011 Miss Universe, embodies her vision for the spirit of the Indian woman and personifies the combination of beauty and intelligence that defines the 21st century winners of the Miss Universe pageant. And so it is no surprise that the former Miss Universe, Sushmita, is personally mentoring the girls -- building them up and transforming them into women of substance.

The finalists are not only the epitome of beauty, but they also exude poise, grace, warmth and confidence -- virtues that distinguish a beauty queen from other women. With two international scholarships (the
top two winners get a ticket to the Istituto Marangoni and the New York Film Academy) at stake, the contestants are doing all they can to win the dazzling crown. Helping them in this endeavour are experts from various fields including Pooja Makhija, Lubna Adams, Sandip Soparrkar among others.

And as these girls-next-door metamorphose into beauty queens, the nation is impatiently waiting to laud the young woman who can bring home the crown. Sushmita is waiting to applaud her successor. The stage is set.
