Tanushree Dutta has a thirst for adventure, whether at work or leisure. The actress, who is just back from a leisure trip from the US, talks about her recent exploits:
Venturing out
I am an adventurous girl and you'll often find me taking off on weekends for mountaineering, trekking, rappling and the likes. On my recent trip to US, I went exploring the countryside instead of taking it easy at home. I even indulged in watersports in LA. Even where work is concerned, I realise that I like to surprise people by doing something new in every project.

Highs and lows
I have had my ups and downs in this industry. And agreed that the downs have had a deeper curve, but I've learnt from my mistakes. I've learnt that you just cannot let anyone typecast you; that is probably the worst thing that can happen to you in Bollywood.
Action packed
My new project too is full of action and adventure. It is a children's fantasy film and we've shot a major part of it in the dangerous environs of the jungles of Thailand. To lend the role authenticity, I took taekwondo lessons before the shooting started. The shoot was fun; the children were so professional. At times I got scared of the dense jungles, but the kids were not scared at all! I hope I get to do more such roles where I enjoy get to explore my potential.
History beckons
I have experimented with almost all kinds of genres, but the only one that I've not tried my hand at is a period film. As a student, I was a history topper. I've always admired the era of our freedom struggle and the World War II. So much so that I have seen Pearl Harbor more than 15 times now. People like Bhagat Singh, Rani Laxmibai, Sarojini Naidu and others have triggered a lot of curiosity in me. It's sad that the documentation of the female freedom fighters has never been upto the mark. I'd love to play an action-packed role of a freedom fighter someday.
