Tusshar Kapoor has good news and bad news. The good news is that tickets to his first US solo world tour sold out in three major cities Indiana, New York and New Jersey within hours. The bad news is that the tour called Next Level Bollywood has been cancelled since the US government didn't give the organisersu00a0 the necessary permits.
The actor, who was overwhelmed when he heard that the tickets has been sold out, is now disappointed, "I am disheartened that the tour has been canned due to permit issues. We sold out all three arenas with a seating capacity of over 10,000."u00a0
Joining Tusshar on this tour was Ameesha Patel along with a troupe of singers and dancers. Kapoor says, "We were told that the Obama government has made stricter rules and regulations for Bollywood actors to get permit to hold shows in their cities.
The officials asked my organisers to show them work records and other legal papers over the last 10 years. We needed an approval letter from the state officials that we couldn't obtain. Hence the tour has been cancelled."
When asked if they faced huge losses he says, "Definitely, since the tickets were sold out in advance, there will be refund issues, not to forget the payment that was made to the crew and the technicians."
Better later...
Organiser Ramesh Chand, who was promoting the show under RJ Entertainment, says, "Due to immigration and permit issues, we've had to postpone our shows. Had we been told about producing the documents before, this situation wouldn't have taken place. We were not given approval as they demanded paperwork and other documents not usually required for holding such shows. I am positive that things will work out and that we will hold the show at a later date."
