Wah Bhai Wah: Salman Khan's endearing bond with kids on screen

He may not be a dad in real life, but on the silver screen, Salman has played father figure to adorable kids in many movies. And, when not doing that, he has shared a wonderful on-screen equation with child stars.

Bajranji Bhaijaan: The Kabir Khan directorial narrates the story of a Hindu man (Salman Khan) on a mission to take a young Pakistani girl Munni (Harshaali Malhotra), who is dumb and mute, back to her country. It chronicles the adventures and experiences he stumbles upon during his road trip. Salman’s equation with Harshaali in the film started making waves even before the film’s release. Ek Ladka Ek Ladki: Very early in his career (1992), Salman played an uncle to three kids in this movie, who later acts as their father so as to take revenge from Neelam, who plays the female lead, and has lost her memory following an accident. The film is filled with some hilarious scenes featuring Salman, the children and Neelam

Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai: In this much-loved film, Salman’s chemistry with a very young Aditya Narayan is the high point. Salman plays a womaniser in the movie, who later goes on to learn that he has a child from one of his flings. The revelation turns his life upside down. As father and son, Salman and Aditya perform their roles with utmost adorability

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai: The film which won Salman a rare award (for supporting actor) has him playing the fiancé of Kajol. The latter is actually in love with Shah Rukh Khan, but is caught between the two. It takes Sana Saeed’s (still recognised as Anjali from the movie) intervention to set things in order. Salman’s brief interaction with the child star again serves life a whiff of fresh air

Biwi No 1: In this David Dhawan comedy, Salman plays the father of two adorable kids, whose philandering ways get him into trouble. Although the film revolves around Karisma Kapoor, who portrays Salman’s wife, the superstar manages to hold his own. Yet again, his affiliation with kids is charming

Jaan-e-Mann: Salman is the only saving grace in this Shirish Kunder-directed disaster. In the film, Salman splits with his love interest, played by Preity Zinta, to concentrate on his film career. Some years later, he finds out that Preity has a baby girl, and that he is the father of the child. Salman’s few scenes with the baby in the movie standout for its cuteness quotient

Partner: This 2007 movie, which briefly revived Govinda’s career, has Salman playing a love guru. He falls in love with a photo journalist (played by Lara Dutta) who already has a son from a previous marriage. To impress Lara, Salman tried to befriend her son, leading to some comical situations
