With his last film Barfi! Anurag Basu managed to make his audience laugh and cry at the same time. But this time it was the director’s turn to shed tears. While reminiscing the times when he was down with life-threatening leukemia, Anurag broke down at an event organised at a city hospital.

A source says, “Anurag was interacting with an audience that consisted of many kids afflicted with cancer. He was telling them his real-life story of battling the disease and finally beating it. He was overwhelmed with emotions and wept in front of them.”

At the event, a very emotional Anurag said, “I don’t know whether I was battling cancer or cancer was battling with me.” Later Ranbir Kapoor, who was also present at the event, tried to cheer his buddy up by commenting about the director’s love for colourful underpants.
