Aamir Khan shared that Salim Khan is recovering steadily after undergoing surgery for a brain haemorrhage. Several film industry members and family have visited him as he remains under medical care

Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan has been in the hospital for over a week. He was admitted to Lilavati Hospital for brain haemorrhage surgery on February 17. Since then, several members of the film industry, including Shah Rukh Khan, Sanjay Dutt, and Javed Akhtar, have visited the senior writer. Amid concerns over his health, Aamir Khan has shared an update on Salman Khan’s father.

At an event, while addressing the media, Aamir Khan said that he could not meet Salim Khan when he went to the hospital but spent time with the family. He said, “Main Salim sahab se milne gaya tha, hum sab dua kar rahe hain ki voh jaldi se theek hojaayen (I went to meet Salim Sahab, and we are all praying that he recovers soon) because he is in the ICU. I couldn’t meet him personally, but sat with the family.”
Sharing what he knows about Khan’s health, Aamir said, “Jo mujhe Alvira ji bata rahi hai, har roz ki unki health improve ho rahi hai. Hum sab prarthna kar rahe hain ki voh jaldi ghar aa jaayen aur unki health bhi wapas aa jaaye (Alvira ji tells me every day that his health is improving. We are all praying that he returns home soon and that his health is fully restored).”
Aamir had visited the hospital along with his girlfriend Gauri Spratt.

The veteran screenwriter was admitted by his family doctor after his blood pressure soared and he suffered a brain haemorrhage. He was also put on a ventilator to ensure his condition did not worsen. Confirming the same, doctors said, “He was having jerks, and his blood pressure was high. We treated him. We had to put him on a ventilator so that his condition does not worsen. It wasn’t because he was critical. We conducted the required investigations. Today, we performed a small procedure on him. The procedure is called DSA (digital subtraction angiography).”

As concern over Khan’s health mounted, his children- superstar Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, and daughter Alvira- along with his sons-in-law Atul Agnihotri and Aayush Sharma, were seen outside the hospital with other well-wishers. His long-time writing partner Javed Akhtar and several politicians were also seen visiting.
