On Friday, October 3, the Director General of Police (DG) office hosted the inaugural event for 'Cyber Awareness Month October 2025'. The event, which aimed to raise awareness about the growing menace of cybercrime, was attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, senior police officials, and Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar.

Akshay recalls a harrowing incident with his daughter

One of the most moving parts of the show occurred when actor Akshay Kumar discussed a horrific real-life occurrence involving his 13-year-old daughter, Nitara. Kumar described how his daughter, while playing an online video game a few months back, came across an unknown person who initially sent nice and encouraging comments.

While sharing the anecdote, Akshay Kumar said, "The game allowed her to play with strangers. The person on the other side started with polite messages like ‘thank you’, ‘well played’, and ‘fantastic’. It seemed like a nice person. After some time, he asked if she was male or female. When she replied female, the tone of the conversation changed."

He revealed that the stranger abruptly demanded his daughter to send nude photos. "My daughter instantly turned off the game and notified my wife. "Fortunately, she didn't hesitate to share what happened, which was the best part," the actor remarked.

Kumar emphasised the gravity of the situation, stating that such tactics are part of a larger pattern of cybercrime in which predators first establish confidence before attempting to abuse youngsters, frequently leading to extortion and even fatal suicides.

The month-long effort will teach citizens, particularly children, parents, and schools, about internet safety, digital responsibility, and how to protect themselves from cybercrime. In his talk, CM Fadnavis emphasised the critical need for vigilance in the digital age.

Akshay talks about his son Aarav choosing to do designing over acting

Earlier, Akshay Kumar even made a revelation on his son's professional choices. The actor revealed that his son Aarav doesn't want to become an actor but a designer.  He said, "He doesn't want to come in films. He has told me straight, 'Dad mere ko nahi aana (Dad, I don't want to come).' I tell him to take the reins of my production company but he doesn't want to do it. He wants to remain in fashion. He wants to be a designer. He is learning fashion at the moment and he's happy in that life." He added, "I want him to come in films but I am also happy with his decision."
