Alia Bhatt talks about striking the balance between acting brilliance and being a great parent
Alia Bhatt, who is currently engrossed in the promotional activities of her upcoming film 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani', recently opened up about the delicate art of balancing work and personal life. Alongside being a remarkable actress, Alia wears multiple hats as a producer and entrepreneur. In the realm of her personal life, Alia tied the knot with her long-time beau and actor Ranbir Kapoor, and their bundle of joy, Raha, graced their lives in November. Alia has been skillfully navigating the realm of her professional commitments while gracefully attending to her personal ones.
During a recent interview with a publication, Alia delved into the concept of balance, emphasizing its inherent inconsistency. She revealed, "Balance is not always consistent and something always has to suffer. You might think you can do everything and nothing will suffer. You might be able to do everything, but your peace of mind will probably suffer. And I think that’s what happens very often because I want to be present with everything personally, and I want to be present professionally. But, in the bargain, I’m taking no time out for myself, giving myself no thought. So, I think it’s about trying to choose your biggest priority at that moment."
Furthermore, Alia shared an insightful anecdote about being advised that she couldn't excel as a 'great daughter' or a 'great parent'. She added, "Somebody once told me that you can never be a great parent or a great professional or a great daughter or a great anything. ‘Greatness’ is just extremely overrated. You just have to be good enough and honest. And keep communication wide open. So that’s what I try to do: keep communication wide open with my friends and my family, and with myself. But, even then, sometimes, I feel as if I take on too much, but I also feel like I thrive with responsibility. I don’t have the answers."
Alia's reflections shed light on the intricacies of navigating a multifaceted life. They highlight the challenges of striking a balance while acknowledging that perfection in all areas is an unattainable ideal. Instead, Alia emphasizes the importance of being good enough, remaining honest with oneself and loved ones, and maintaining open lines of communication. Despite occasional doubts and the absence of definitive answers, Alia's determination to thrive amidst her responsibilities is a testament to her resilience and commitment to personal and professional growth.
As Alia continues to mesmerize audiences with her talent on the silver screen, her insights into the complexities of balancing personal and professional spheres serve as an inspiration for many navigating similar challenges in their own lives.
