Farhan Akhtar’s much-anticipated Don 3 has been in the headlines for quite some time now. Recently, Ranveer Singh’s exit from the film made a lot of noise. Earlier, Kiara Advani and Vikrant Massey had also exited from the project. Now reports have emerged that the makers are now considering The Ba***ds of Bollywood star Rajat Bedi as a replacement for the role of Vikrant Massey.
Rajat Bedi to replace Vikrant Massey in Don 3?
A recent Hindustan Times report suggests that Farhan Akhtar has shown interest in casting actor Rajat Bedi, who set the internet buzzing with his comeback in Aryan Khan's directorial The Ba***ds of Bollywood (2025).
The 51-year-old actor is reportedly in talks with the makers for an important role in the third instalment of the franchise. Rajat could be seen stepping in the shoes of Vikrant in the film. A source close to development told the portal, “Farhan is considering Rajat Bedi to play a pivotal part for which Vikrant was roped in originally. The actor-producer have done an official conversation around and the two are planning to meet around mid of Jan at their Khar office in Mumbai.”
Earlier in July 2025, a report by Bollywood Hungama revealed that Vikrant took an exit from the film. Industry insiders stated that Vikrant quit the film due to the lack of depth in this role and the requirement for a transformation. Although many reports later suggested that Aditya Roy Kapur and Vijay Deverakonda were being considered for Vikrant’s role, there has been no official confirmation from the makers on the same.
About Don 3
The third instalment of Don is seen as a crucial project for Farhan Akhtar, who has been at the helm of the franchise. With a meeting planned between Farhan Akhtar and Rajat Bedi expected to take place in mid-January at their Khar office in Mumbai, the industry is waiting to see if an official casting will be done.
Meanwhile, recent reports also claimed that the makers were in talks with Hrithik Roshan for the lead role after Ranveer Singh quit the film. “At the moment, everyone is in the festive mood, and things will only start rolling next year. The script needs to be altered to suit a new hero, and only once that is locked, they will be on the hunt for their new Don. While Hrithik could be a great choice, all the chatter is untrue as of now,” the source told India Today.
