‘Create room for love’
Actor Vaani Kapoor has spoken out against rising negativity on social media, months after facing backlash for her role opposite Pakistani actor Fawad Khan in the yet-unreleased film, Abir Gulaal. “Last couple of months, years, everything became hectic and heavy on social media,” she said at the trailer launch of her OTT debut, Mandala Murders, in Mumbai. “I hope one can calm down on hate, create room for love and kindness. What you give will come back to you. If you troll somebody, it’s going to sting you worse.” Mandala Murders, a mythological crime thriller, directed by Gopi Puthran, marks the actor’s first long-format project. The show, produced by YRF Entertainment, also stars Surveen Chawla, Shriya Pilgaonkar, and Raghubir Yadav. It will stream on Netflix from July 25.

The family of slain Punjabi musician Sidhu Moosewala has announced a world tour for the singer. The singer’s family shared the news on his official social media pages by posting a video which announced the Signed to God World Tour. The tour will kick off in 2026 with shows lined up in Punjab as well as global cities like Toronto, London, and Los Angeles. It is being said that concepts such as AI-generated avatars, 3D holograms, and augmented reality experiences are reportedly being explored to recreate Sidhu’s stage presence. However, the announcement has taken fans by surprise, as it comes three years after Moosewala’s untimely death in May 2022.
Remembering India’s first Hollywood star

The incredible life of Sabu Dastagir, India’s first Hollywood star, is headed to the big screen. Almighty Motion Picture has acquired the film and TV rights to Sabu: The Remarkable Story of India’s First Actor in Hollywood by Debleena Majumdar. Born in Mysuru in 1924, Sabu went from tending elephants to starring in international hits like Elephant Boy (1937), The Thief of Bagdad (1940), and Jungle Book (1942). “His story is a legacy we are honoured to bring alive,” said producer Prabhleen Sandhu. Sabu also served in World War II and earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame before his untimely death in 1963 at age 39.
‘Language is a bridge, not a barrier’

Actor Ashutosh Rana has urged people to rise above language-based divisions, emphasising unity and mutual respect. Speaking at a recent event, Rana said, “Language is meant to connect, not divide. It should never be a reason for conflict — we’re better than that.” The actor highlighted the richness of India’s linguistic diversity and called for greater appreciation of all languages. He noted that regional languages and dialects carry deep cultural value, and embracing them can foster national harmony. Ashutosh’s remarks come amidst ongoing debates around language imposition and the importance of linguistic inclusivity in education, cinema, and public discourse. “We must not let language become a battleground. It’s a bridge, not a barrier,” he added.
