Shubhangi Atre's film Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain gets OTT release date

After tickling audiences in cinemas with its madcap humour and nostalgic charm, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain – Fun on the Run is now set for its world digital premiere on ZEE5 on April 3, 2026. The comedy-drama, which released in theatres in February, brings the beloved characters of the iconic sitcom into a chaotic yet entertaining feature-film adventure. Directed by Shashank Bali, the film features the original ensemble cast—Aasif Sheikh, Rohitashv Gour, Shubhangi Atre, and Vidisha Srivastava—along with Ravi Kishan and Mukesh Tiwari in pivotal special appearances. About Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain A feature-length adaptation of the long-running sitcom Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain, the movie reintroduces viewers to Aasif Sheikh and Rohitashv Gour as Vibhuti Narayan Mishra and Manmohan Tiwari, respectively. Staying true to their beloved on-screen personas, both characters once again scheme hilariously to stay close to each other’s wives, using their trademark excuses and comedic charm. In this outing, the film transports Vibhuti, Tiwari, Anita, and Angoori Bhabhi from their familiar lanes of Kanpur to a whirlwind road trip that quickly spirals out of control. Their seemingly innocent getaway takes a dangerous and humorous turn when they cross paths with gangster brothers Shanti and Kranti—played by Ravi Kishan and Mukesh Tiwari—who become obsessed with Anita and Angoori, triggering a frantic chase filled with confusion, disguises, and unexpected twists. Staying true to the show’s signature humour, the film blends romance, slapstick, situational comedy, and even playful horror elements, creating a multi-genre entertainer for fans of all ages. It also plays heavily on nostalgia by weaving in iconic catchphrases like “Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai?” and “Sahi Pakde Hain!”, instantly reconnecting fans with the charm of the original series. The cast speak Aasif Sheikh said, “Tiwari Ji’s world has always been full of hilarious insecurity and over-the-top confidence, and the film magnifies those traits beautifully. What excited me most was how the movie retains the Tiwari–Vibhuti rivalry but presents it with fresh scale and situations. For fans, this OTT release is a chance to experience that nostalgic chemistry in a brand-new setting. I’m thrilled that the madness will now reach households nationwide on ZEE5.” Rohitashv Gour said , “Playing Manmohan Tiwari for so many years has been a privilege, but seeing him on the big screen felt like a milestone not just for me, but for every fan who has grown up with the character. The film allowed us to explore his quirks in a larger-than-life format, and that was incredibly satisfying as an actor. I think viewers will enjoy how his charm and mischief translate cinematically. Now, with the ZEE5 premiere, audiences everywhere can relive that madness from the comfort of their homes.” Shubhangi Atre said, “Stepping into Angoori’s innocence on a cinematic canvas gave me the space to explore her charm in new, delightful ways. The film brings back the heart of the character while adding adventurous layers audiences haven’t seen before. For long-time viewers, it’s a sweet throwback to when they first fell in love with her simplicity and warmth. With the ZEE5 premiere, I’m excited for families to enjoy this fun, wholesome nostalgia trip together.” Stream Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain – Fun on the Run from 3rd April exclusively on Hindi ZEE5

Director Prem, a still from Sarke Chunar song

Sarke Chunar row: Director Prem says there are other issues like war, LPG crisis

The director of KD: The Devil, Prem, has addressed the backlash and controversy surrounding the song Sarke Chunar from the film. He revealed that while he wrote the Kannada lyrics of the song, he didn't fully understand the Hindi version. He also stated how at a time when important issues like the Iran-Israel-US war and LPG shortage, there's no need to turn song into a controversy. Prem breaks his silence on Sarke Chunar row During an interview with Hindustan Times, Prem reacted to speculation that the outrage and controversy were a publicity stunt for the film. He dismissed the claim, saying, “I don’t want any controversy. Mine is an emotional film, and the song is meant to be something people dance to at parties. It’s been well received in Karnataka and Kerala. Why would I want controversy?”  Further talking about the lyrics of the song, Prem explains that while he wrote the original Kannada lyrics, the Hindi version was translated by lyricist Raqueeb Alam. He confessed that he was unaware of the specific words that later drew criticism. “Everything went smoothly with the Kannada original. I didn’t understand the Hindi words used in translation, as I am not fluent in the language. I come from a village where phrases like ‘neeche mat gira, uthao’ are part of everyday speech, it’s Janapada,” he shared. The filmmaker says the contentious lines have now been changed and the updated version will be sent to the Censor Board soon. He also expressed regret, saying, “If anyone is hurt, I am very sorry. Our big film faced a small lyrics issue, but it has been blown out of proportion. There are so many larger problems in the world, war hai, LPG gas ki problem hai toh kyun ek gaane pe itni badi controversy kar di?” About the Sarke Chunar controversy The song Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke, featuring Sanjay Dutt and Nora Fatehi, sparked a controversy for its objectionable lyrics and choreography. The backlash led to the removal of the song from YouTube and other streaming platforms. It even backfired as a reported fatwa was issued against Nora. On the other hand, the National Commission for Women had also issued summons to Nora and Sanjay in connection with the controversy by taking a suo motu cognisance of the issue. Meanwhile, Nora Fatehi addressed the row, saying she had no idea about the Hindi version and had not allowed permission for her image to be used in it.

Priyadarshan says he has 'suffered a lot making comedy films'

Veteran filmmaker Priyadarshan, celebrated for crafting some of Bollywood’s finest comedies, says he does not laugh at his own films. The director, in an exclusive conversation with IANS, admitted that making comedy has been one of the most challenging aspects of his career. “I have suffered a lot making comedy films. When I rewatch my own films that have become huge hits, I just don't feel like laughing,” Priyadarshan said in an exclusive conversation with IANS. He added that audience reactions in theatres reassure him about the impact of his work. “But in the theatre I see the response and the impact it had created on the audience.” I feel you can't watch the same scene for ten times. But there are people watching it twenty times, thirty times.” Calling comedy one of the most difficult genres, he said, “This is the most difficult thing. Every time I get shivers when I try humour and horror or humour with thrill. I mean it's very, very difficult. I can say that for sure.” The Bhool Bhulaiyaa director concluded on a reflective note, quipping that he may have to step away from the genre. “I have to stop this business soon. I have decided,” he said. The ace filmmaker is now gearing up for his upcoming project Bhoot Bangla, which marks his reunion with actor Akshay Kumar after many years. The film also stars Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Wamiqa Gabbi and late veteran star Asrani in key roles. The movie is expected to bring back Priyadarshan’s signature blend of comedy and chaos. The much-anticipated film is slated for release on the 10th of April 2026. This story has been sourced from a third party syndicated feed, agencies. Hrithik Roshan and Ryan Gosling bond over alien friends Jaadu and Rocky

Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan, who was last seen in War 2, recently had a tete-a-tete with actor Ryan Gosling. He threw the idea to the Hollywood star, asking him to hang out together with the alien characters of Rocky and Jaadu. The actor spoke during the promotions of Ryan Gosling’s upcoming film Project Hail Mary, and heaped praise on the film which is adapted for the screen from the eponymous novel by Andy Weir. During the conversation the Bollywood superstar told Ryan, “You have Rocky and I have Jaadu. We'll hang at Churchgate of Bandra. That sounds great. By the way I just met Rocky. I met him and I taught him some of our On behalf of all your fans here in India, namaste and we are really looking forward to your film. Thank you so much. I hear you've read the book. Oh my god, I read the book and it's incredible”. He further mentioned, “I actually read the book and then I saw the trailer. Then I made an Instagram post about it and I said that it's the best sci-fi book I've ever read in my life. The movie better live up to it. That was the second thing I said. No pressure. The third thing I said was that Ryan acts and embodies the part unbelievably well”. Hrithik then spoke about the scene from Project Hail Mary which stayed with him. He shared, “There is this one scene where they're forcing you to go to space and you just don't want to go. On the page it's said that he tears up and I caught myself thinking as an actor I was like how would an actor play that? Would I actually cry or would I hold it in? What's going to be the sweet spot? I was wondering, did you have a thought while approaching that scene?”. Responding to the same, Ryan said, “You know it was interesting that was one of the last you know we shot so it took five years to make the film and then I was like a hundred days alone on camera. It was one of the most difficult films I've ever made and probably will ever make. Took a bigger chunk out of me than any movie I've ever done”. “So I was so broken down by the whole process of making this that I was just shattered anyway in that scene. And then I'm acting opposite Sandra Huler who is one of the greatest actors alive. She played it with such beautiful emotion you know there wasn't a harshness to it. There was so much pure emotion in the way that she played it that it just wrecked me. I didn't have to act”, he added. This story has been sourced from a third party syndicated feed, agencies.
