Riteish Deshmukh, Aftab Shivdasani, and Vivek Oberoi's recently released film Mastiii 4 has landed in legal trouble. A well-known content creator named Ashish Sharma has reportedly filed a case against the makers of the film in the Delhi High Court, claiming that a key comedy scene in the movie has been stolen from his reel, which has 11 million views without any prior consent from him.

According to reports, Sharma alleged that a sequence in Mastiii 4 closely resembles one of his reels titled Shaq Karne Ka Nateeja, which he shared on his Instagram two years back in January 2024. In his plea, Sharma alleged that the makers copied the central idea of his story along with the storyline, character interactions, sequence of events, and even the comic punchline.

Ashish not only demanded a permanent injunction on the film but also sought financial compensation along with a full report of the profits of Mastiii 4, claiming his work was used without permission or credit.

A single-judge Bench of Justice Tushar Rao Gedela reportedly heard Sharma’s request for immediate relief on January 6, 2026. After taking note of the film’s upcoming digital release, the court issued notice to the producers, which stated that they should be given an opportunity to present their side of the story before any interim decision is taken. The judge also indicated that a short notice was appropriate, given the stage of the film’s release cycle.

RJ Ashish Sharma enjoys a considerable following on both Instagram and YouTube. He informed the court that he is the sole creator and owner of the reel in question. He also argued that the alleged plagiarism amounts to deliberate violation of his creative rights, especially when digital creators are contributing original ideas to popular culture.

The case is expected to be heard next on January 13, 2026. Mastiii 4 makers are yet to respond to the allegations.
