The Versova police have registered a case of cheating against two individuals for allegedly stealing and selling hard drives and mobile phones from director Vikram Bhatt's office in Andheri. The accused, Jitendra Sharma and Rakesh Pranigrahi, reportedly used hard disks and mobile phones from the office of director and producer Vikram Pravin Bhatt, for personal purposes.

About the FIR

Bhatt runs VSB Production LLP, and the complaint was filed by the company's production manager, Nasir Khan, 46, who approached the police. On October 10,  2025, the police registered the case.

According to the FIR, Bhatt's VSB Production LLP is situated on J.P. Road, Andheri West. Vikram and his wife, Shwetambri Bhatt, observed that since March 2025, disks from his office were missing. The disks comprised of raw footage of his movies, and someone had allegedly misused them. Bhatt suspected the account manager, Rakesh Pranigrahi, and requested production manager Khan to keep an eye on the situation.

Following this, Khan noticed that Jitendra Sharma, who worked under Panigrahi, had all the disks in his possession. Any time a staff member needed a disc for work, Sharma would first take permission from Pranigrahi and then provide it. However, in the last two months, whenever the staff requested disks, Sharma often gave various excuses and avoided providing them.

Employees booked for stealing at Vikram Bhatt's office

On September 13, 2025, the executive assistant, Mohit Kumar, questioned Sharma about the disks. Sharma revealed that he had sold the discs to Ashok Krush on Pranigrahi's orders. The disks were reportedly sold for Rs 5,000–6,000 each. Half of the money allegedly went to Pranigrahi. It is also believed that as many as 10 discs were sold. When Bhatt’s staff asked Sharma to return the disks, he avoided contact by keeping his mobile phone switched off and stopped coming to work. Eventually, Pranigrahi also stopped coming to the office and did not return the company’s mobile phones.

The police registered have a case against Pranigrahi and Sharma under Sections 316 (4) (criminal breach of trust) and 3 (5) (general explanation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Vikram Bhatt is best known for his horror films like Raaz, Raaz Reboot, Raaz 3, 1920, 1920 returns among others.
