Christina Applegate hospitalised in LA due to multiple sclerosis

Actor Christina Applegate has been hospitalised in Los Angeles amid her ongoing battle with multiple sclerosis (MS), TMZ reported. According to the publication, Applegate was admitted in late March. However, the exact reason for her hospital stay has not been made public. It is also not clear if the hospitalisation is connected to her MS condition. The update comes shortly after Applegate's podcast co-host Jamie-Lynn Sigler shared on March 31 that their podcast MeSsy would be taking a short break while both hosts were busy with book tours. Sigler herself has been living with relapsing MS for more than two decades. Reacting to the reports, Christina Applegate's representative told TMZ, "I have no comment whether she is in the hospital or what her medical treatments are. She's had a long history of complicated medical conditions that she has been refreshingly open about, as evidenced in her memoir and on her podcast." Applegate was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in June 2021. Since then, she has openly spoken about the physical and emotional struggles that come with the disease. Last month, she released her memoir You With the Sad Eyes, where she shared details about how the illness affects her daily life. In the book, she wrote, "When I wake up, I often can't get my arm to move far enough to grab the cup of water by my bed or my phone from its charger." She also shared that the illness has made her more prone to infections and that she has had to visit the emergency room regularly. Anne Hathaway reveals how Beyonce helped her for Mother Mary

Hollywood star Anne Hathaway, who is currently gearing up for the release of her upcoming film The Devil Wears Prada, says she repeatedly listened to one Beyonce song to help her prepare for playing the titular role in the film, Mother Mary. Hathaway listened to the 44-year-old singer-songwriter's 2024 track American Requiem repeatedly in preparation for her role in the psychological drama-thriller, which follows the psychosexual affair between pop singer Mary and fashion designer Sam Anselm. Studying Beyonce's voice made Hathaway realise she could use a softer voice for her character, reports feamelfirst.co.uk. During a Q+A session at a listening event for the movie's soundtrack, Hathaway said: "Her technique in that song is so mesmerising and astonishing - and real.” Anne Hathaway (right) in ‘Mother Mary’. Pic/Instagram “Just listening to her phraseology, her musicianship, understanding the history of her voice that had led her to be able to make that sound that is so still, that's so present, I studied that, and I appreciated that Beyoncé can do the runs,” she added. Studying the 35-time Grammy Award winner's "pop phrasing was a really big deal" for the actress. Hathaway added: "I thought, OK, maybe there's something to be said about having a sweet, still voice. Maybe I can work with this." The star originally learned to sing in a musical theatre style, and she spent two years retraining her voice in a more contemporary pop style for Mother Mary. Speaking about her 72-year-old mom, actress Kate McCauley Hathaway, she said: "I'm more soft-spoken than she is, and so in my head. I've never really rated myself as a singer. When I was growing up, I was like, 'Whitney Houston, that's a real singer,' and I just can't do runs like that." With Mother Mary, she added: "It was a completely new way of singing, and it baffled me for the longest time. It took about two years before I finally cracked it," she said of the pop star she built. "So much of it was just studying what other singers did and trying to figure out, frankly, why they sounded so cool." This story has been sourced from a third party syndicated feed, agencies. The actor, who played Sophie in both the original film and its sequel, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, she said, does not have any concrete updates on the third film, which remains in development. It's just like what we used to do as kids, like ribbon dancing in dance class," according to People. The actor has consistently expressed her desire to return to the franchise, previously stating she would continue campaigning to be part of the third film and would be disappointed if she did not reprise her role. The franchise also starred Meryl Streep as Donna, Sophie's mother, who has also indicated interest in returning, even joking about possible ways her character could reappear, according to People. Gerard Butler, Morena Baccarin open up on their Greenland- Migration characters

The end of the world was just the beginning. Now, survival is the destination. Premiering on April 24 exclusively on Lionsgate Play, Greenland: Migration takes audiences deeper into a gripping post-apocalyptic journey where resilience, family, and the search for safety collide. Picking up after the catastrophic comet event, the Garrity family leaves the safety of Greenland’s bunkers to embark on a perilous migration across a devastated world in search of a new home. Gerard Butler and Morena Baccarin on their characters Led by Gerard Butler, Morena Baccarin, and Roman Griffin Davis, the film expands its emotional core while raising the stakes with new characters, unexpected alliances, and escalating dangers. Talking about his character John’s role in the bunker, Gerard Butler said, “He's able to build things, he's able to fix things, and that's been his job in this community, keeping a lot of those things going in the bunker. He also has taken it upon himself, which is a bit of a sacrifice, basically, because whenever you go out into the elements, even if you have a suit on, you're still getting pummeled with radiation, you're still getting a leakage of pollution into your lungs. But he goes out and he scavenges and he finds things that will help them back down in the bunker to fix things, whether it's a spanner or a pipe or whatever he can get." Speaking about her character Alison, Morena Baccarin said, "Alison is, I guess, much like myself, a no-BSer. She really doesn't beat around the bush. She's somebody that's fiercely protective of her family and really very driven to be a good person, a good member of the community. I really loved how strong Alison was, how she wasn't a damsel in distress, that she was fighting for her family and her survival and her kid. I think it's very interesting to see a very sort of, quote unquote, normal family going through extraordinary circumstances in a way that a lot of people in the world go through and don't necessarily get highlighted." Director's take Talking about the film’s themes, director Ric Roman Waugh said, “Greenland: Migration is the next chapter of the Garrity family. It explores survival, legacy, and what we pass on to future generations. It’s about not just surviving, but also what we leave behind.” Roman Griffin Davis shared what drew him to the sequel, “I enjoyed the first film, but what interested me more was my character’s journey. It was also an opportunity to work with a great team. Disaster films resonate because they reflect extreme versions of real-world struggles.”

Mark Wahlberg does not want to force his Catholic faith on his kids

Hollywood star Mark Wahlberg is a devout Catholic and shares that while he has always "tried to be an example" to his children, he is keen for them to make their own decisions when it comes to spirituality. The 54-year-old actor has Ella, Michael, Brendan, and Grace with wife Rhea Durham. He told Us Weekly magazine: “I’ve only tried to be an example to my kids and not force my faith on them. And hopefully they see that it really works for me, and they gravitate towards it on their own.” Wahlberg’s youngest daughter, Grace, recently celebrated her First Communion and he is "very, very happy" with the teenager's commitment to her faith, reports femalefirst.co.uk. He said: “After being baptised and making your communion, you’re actually making a commitment to pursue this relationship with God throughout your adult life. It’s a beautiful thing.” Meanwhile, the actor is known for his early morning gruelling workout regime and recently premiered his 4am Club Challenge series on YouTube. Wahlberg has dismissed people who don't believe he really does get up so early. He told E! News: “I really do this. I'll get up at three o'clock—if I get to bed at a decent time. I always try to get eight hours of sleep. This is my daily routine, and I try to get as much done before I go to work or before I'm getting the kids up.” While the actor feels some social media stars only show off their workouts "for the 'gram", he is keen for fans to see his authentic experiences. He said: “We're trying to share what we do and how we become successful, and we want to challenge people to be the best versions of themselves.” He hopes the 4am Club Challenge proves to be inspirational. The actor said: “There'll be a big content component to reward people and give them the recognition that they deserve for what they've accomplished in their fitness journey. And then inspire other people at home who look just like them who don't think it's possible. “It's not about what I'm doing, it's really about what you're doing, challenging people to be the best versions of themselves. Whenever your 4am is, that's all that matters. You get in there, you kill it and then you're gonna have a better chance of being successful at everything else that you do.” This story has been sourced from a third party syndicated feed, agencies. Erika Eleniak to reprise her role in ‘Baywatch’ reboot

The upcoming reboot of the legendary series Baywatch has added another familiar face to its line-up. Actress Erika Eleniak will reprise her role as Shauni McClain in a guest starring capacity. The actress starred in the first two seasons of the show before departing at the beginning of Season 3, reports ‘Variety’. A former Baywatch lifeguard, Shauni is now a Santa Monica city councilwoman who returns to the beach to help Hobie Buchannon (played by Stephen Amell) kick off the annual “Beach Games” between reigning champions of Baywatch versus the Coast Guard. As per ‘Variety’, she has joined returning cast member David Chokachi, who is reprising the role of Cody Madison, as well as an ensemble that includes Amell, Jessica Belkin as Charlie Vale, Shay Mitchell as Trina, Hassie Harrison as Nat, Thaddeus LaGrone as Brad, Brooks Nader as Selene, Noah Beck as Luke, Livvy Dunne as Grace and Nadia Gray as Lisa. Decades after the original ‘Baywatch’ became one of the largest television properties of all time, launching David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson to global stardom, Fox and Fremantle decided to revive the franchise with a series that continues the storyline of the original. Matt Nix is the showrunner, executive producing alongside director McG, Michael Berk, Greg Bonann, Doug Schwartz, Dante Di Loreto and Mike Horowitz. The reboot received a California state tax incentive to shoot in Los Angeles, and Fox hosted an open casting call in February to attract new talent. ‘Baywatch’ blended action, sun-soaked visuals, and melodrama along California’s beaches. The show followed lifeguards rescuing swimmers, tackling crime, and navigating personal lives. It is known for its iconic slow-motion beach runs and catchy theme, it became one of the most-watched TV shows worldwide in the 1990s. Despite mixed critical reviews, its cultural impact and global syndication success made it a television phenomenon. ‘Baywatch’ is set to premiere on Fox as part of the 2026-2027 season. Christopher Nolan calls The Odyssey a 'nightmare in all the right ways'

Auteur Christopher Nolan has shared that his upcoming film The Odyssey was a "nightmare to film, but in all the right ways”. The 55-year-old filmmaker's upcoming blockbuster brings Homer's epic ancient Greek story to the big screen and he explained that he had an "amazing time" shooting the movie during a hectic production process across Morocco, Greece, Italy, Iceland and Scotland, reports ‘Female First UK’. Speaking at a presentation for The Odyssey at CinemaCon, Nolan said, "This has been a nightmare to film, but in all the right ways”. The Oppenheimer director reserved praise for The Odyssey's leading man, Matt Damon, whom he referred to as his "partner on this journey". Nolan shared, "He was there on the boats, up the mountains, in the caves, in the beating sunshine, sideways rain, wind. You'll be pleased to know how difficult it was. It was meant to be; that's the nature of the story”. As per ‘Female First UK’, the attendees at CinemaCon in Las Vegas got an extended glimpse of The Odyssey, which will be released in July, and Nolan explained that he decided to adapt Homer's story for the cinema because it "has fascinated generation after generation". The auteur said, "Why The Odyssey? The Odyssey is a story that has fascinated generation after generation for 3,000 years. It's not a story. It's the story”. The picture tells the story of Odysseus, the Greek king of Ithaca, and his long and perilous journey home to reunite with his wife Penelope (played by Anne Hathaway) following the Trojan War and Nolan quipped that the film's cast, which also includes Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya and Charlize Theron, is so talent-filled that he couldn't bring all of the stars to CinemaCon. The director said, "How do you go about bringing this to a modern audience? Obviously, we start with the cast. It'll be quicker for me to tell you who isn't in the movie. I would have brought them all here, but the massive weight of extraordinary talent would have collapsed the stage”. The Odyssey is Nolan's first movie to be shot entirely with Imax cameras. Tom Cruise's Top Gun 3 is officially in works, makers confirm

Hollywood action star Tom Cruise is finally returning for Top Gun 3, the makers confirmed at CinemaCon. According to Variety, Paramount announced Tom Cruise's return to the franchise along with producer Jerry Bruckheimer. They also confirmed the film is officially in the works. A sequel to Joseph Kosinski's 2022 blockbuster Top Gun: Maverick, the third instalment was first revealed to be in development in 2024 with writer Ehren Kruger. 'Maverick' was a blockbuster hit, even during the times when the theatres struggled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It collected USD 1.5 billion at the global box office with a budget of USD 170 million. Cruise also returned for the second instalment, 36 years after he debuted as Lieutenant Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell in the 1986 original. His character went back to the famous flight school to teach a new batch of pilots for a dangerous mission. It is then that he crosses paths with Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller), the son of his best friend who died in the first film. Besides Cruise and Teller, the film also featured Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Monica Barbaro, Danny Ramirez, Jay Ellis, Greg Tarzan Davis and Manny Jacinto. Notably, in May 2025, Christopher McQuarrie, the director of Mission: Impossible -- The Final Reckoning, shared updates on his upcoming collaborations with Tom Cruise, including the highly anticipated Top Gun 3. As per Deadline, in an interview, McQuarrie revealed that the sequel to Top Gun: Maverick is "already in the bag," with a framework for the story already in place. "It wasn't hard," McQuarrie said, adding, "I thought it would be, and that's a good place to go from is you walk into the room going, 'Come on, what are we going to do?'" McQuarrie emphasised that the challenge lies not in developing the story but in executing it and capturing the emotional depth that makes the films resonate.
