Kantara Chapter 1
Rishab Shetty's Kantara Chapter 1 has been one of the most anticipated films. Naturally, when the film was announced, the buzz around it was at an all-time high. The excitement among fans was reflected in the numbers when the film opened its advance booking windows. Amid the hype, we dug out the ticket prices of the Rishab Shetty directorial, and the most expensive ticket we saw left us in shock.
Kanatara Chapter 1 most expensive ticket price
After doing some digging, we discovered that Kantara Chapter 1 tickets were being sold at an inflated price of Rs 1700. What's more surprising is that the cinema hall selling the tickets at the hiked price wasn't in Mumbai or even it's home state, Karnataka. Kantara Chapter 1 tickets are being sold at Rs 1700 at PVR Priya Vasant, located in Vasant Vihar in Delhi.

PVR INOX spokesperson Gautam Dutta, who is the CEO of Revenue and Operations of the multiplex chain, shared that they are witnessing truly exceptional pre-booking trends.
He shared, “We are truly witnessing a larger-than-life moment at the cinemas. Kantara: Chapter 1, featuring Rishabh Shetty in a powerful role, has taken the nation by storm with record-breaking pre-bookings and an electrifying response, reaffirming the magic of big-screen storytelling. At the same time, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is bringing its own charm, with Varun Dhawan’s vibrant performance and chartbuster music already capturing audiences’ hearts. Both films have generated massive hype, resonating strongly across age groups and drawing movie lovers back to theatres in overwhelming numbers. Together, these titles are not just films—they are cultural celebrations that are redefining the big-screen experience and setting new benchmarks for Indian cinema. At PVR INOX, we are proud to present such unforgettable, larger-than-life entertainment to millions of movie lovers across the country.”
Kantara Chapter 1 advance bookings
According to reports, Kantara Chapter 1 has collected Rs 11.46 crore (without block seats) for 11,800 shows. Additionally, it is also reported that with block seats, the number stands at Rs 18.95 crore. For the unversed, block seats are typically reserved for last-minute bookings, promotions, or studio schemes. The upcoming film has already sold over 4 lakh tickets for its opening day across India.
Interestingly, a majority of ticket bookings are from the Kannada-speaking region, with 2,14,933 tickets sold for 1,780 shows. The original film had obtained a cult status. Despite that, the prequel has struggled to build similar momentum in the Hindi belt. So far, the advance bookings have generated over Rs 1.9 crore, with approximately 57,000 tickets sold for 6,393 shows in the region.
The Rishab Shetty-starrer has also sold 39,270 and 33,492 tickets in Tamil and Telugu regions, respectively. Meanwhile, the Malayalam version is performing equally well, with 53,957 tickets sold across just 1,236 shows.
