Spirit, starring Prabhas and Triptii Dimri, is one of the most anticipated films. For the past few days, social media has been abuzz with rumours claiming that Megastar Chiranjeevi would be playing Prabhas’ father in Spirit. Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has now debunked the rumours and clarified that the actor is not associated with the film in any capacity.
Chiranjeevi in Prabhas-starrer Spirit?
123 Telugu reported that rumours are rife that Megastar Chiranjeevi is playing Prabhas’ father in Spirit. However, during the Jigris team interaction, the director dismissed the rumour, saying that Chiranjeevi is not playing Prabhas’ father or any role in the movie. On the other hand, when asked about South Korean actor Don Lee playing the villain, the Animal director refused to comment.
Spirit teaser
Meanwhile, the makers of Prabhas’ upcoming film dropped a “sound story” teaser on the occasion of the actor’s birthday. The teaser offers an intriguing glimpse into Prakash Raj’s character — a strict, no-nonsense IPS officer known for his discipline and dominance. The highlight of the clip comes when Prabhas says in his intense style, “Mr. Superintendent, bachpan se meri ek buri aadat hai.” To this, Prakash Raj retorts sharply, “What?” The screen then dramatically transitions to reveal the film’s title, Spirit. From their exchange, it appears that Prabhas plays an IPS officer who now finds himself in prison.

Prabhas’ upcoming movies
On the work front, the actor will next be seen in RajaSaab. The film will release worldwide on January 9, 2026, coinciding with Sankranthi. It will clash with Thalapathy Vijay's farewell film Jana Nayagan. The film also stars Malavika Mohanna, Niddhi Agerwal, and Ridhi Kumar in pivotal roles.
Apart from this, he has Salaar 2 and Kalki 2898 AD 2 in his kitty. They are the most-anticipated sequels. He will also collaborate with Sita Ramam fame Hanu Raghavapudi for a film tentatively titled Fauji. Recently, Prabhas returned to the big screens in his iconic Baahubali avatar as the makers re-released the film, combining the first and second parts to celebrate a decade since its release.
