Bharti Singh recalled how she was inappropriately touched during her college days when she used to travel in bus. However, she was naive to understand at tha point. She reveals how that phase taught her the lesson of good and bad touch

Bharti Singh is one of the most popular and highest-paid hosts and comedians in today’s time. However, carving a niche for herself was not easy. From losing father to her mother raising them by working as a maid, her life has been full of ups and downs. In a recent interview, Bharti opened up about one of the dark chapters of her life and recalled the time she was touched inappropriately.

During her appearance on Raj Shamani’s Podcast, Bharti said, “Jab paise bilkul nahi the, main colleges mein comedy skits karvane jaati thi. Mujhe samajh nahi aata tha tab. Aaj good touch-bad touch batate hai, mujhe toh pata hi nahi tha (When we had no money, I would go to colleges and conduct workshops for comedy skits. I did not understand (inappropriate touch). Now, women are educated about good touch-bad touch, but I never understood that)."

Bharti recalls horrific incident
She further added, “College se teen din chutti karti thi aur mera friend ek chhote college mein jaate the, subah 5 baje ki bus leti thi. Uss bus mein sab dudh wale hote the. Jagah nahi hoti thi. Mujhe dedh saal tak samjha hi nahi ki chhed rahe hai. Jab kisine kass ke pakda, phir samajh aaya lekin sochti rahi ki voh girne laga ho aur vahi cheez haath mein aa gayi. (I would take three days' leave from college and go to smaller colleges with my friend. The bus would come at 5 AM and full of milkmen. There wouldn’t be enough space for everyone to travel comfortably. It took me two-and-a-half years to understand what exactly happened to me daily. If someone would hold me inappropriately, I was naive to think that he lost his balance and grabbed me accidentally).”
The actress further said how such conversations were not prioritized earlier as people were hesitant to talk about it. “As I grew mature, I understood what good touch-bad touch meant. We were never told. Women in the family were also uncomfortable talking about these topics.”
On the work front, Bharti was last seen hosting Laughter Chefs 2. She is currently busy with her podcast Bharti TV with husband Harssh Limbachiyaa.
