Mahhi Vij on divorce with Jay Bhanushali Speaking on her YouTube channel, Mahhi confirmed the separation and spoke candidly about their divorce. “Yes, I am separated from Jay. We are divorced, but we remain good friends. Hum log dono waise bane hai ki hum dono kaafi peaceful log hain. Hum logon ko drama, jhagde, ladayi ya gandagi pasand nahi hai. Hum dono ne mutually decide kiya ki it’s better hum log apne apne raaste jaaye. (We are both peaceful people. We don’t like drama, fights, arguments, or negativity. We mutually decided that it’s better for us to go our separate ways),” she said. Mahhi further clarified that the end of their marriage does not affect the well-being of their children. “Aur aisa kuch nahi hai ki bachche bilkul anaath sadak pe aa gaye hain. Aisa kuch nahi hai. (It’s not like our children have suddenly become orphans on the streets. That’s not the case at all),” she said, adding that Jay’s family continues to share a close bond with her. Mahhi Vij on alimony rumours Following the divorce announcement, Mahhi addressed claims circulating online that she had received Rs 5 crore as alimony. She urged people not to spread misinformation based on half-knowledge, pointing out that such posts are also seen by their children and families. “Right now, I’m seeing a lot of people on Instagram saying, ‘Mahhi took Rs 5 crore in alimony.’ People are digging out old videos just for likes and comments. It’s very sad,” she said. While acknowledging public curiosity, Mahhi appealed for sensitivity. “It’s very sad because our parents and kids also see Instagram,” she added. She also responded to trolls who labelled the situation as “drama.” “No one likes going through a divorce. There’s no drama here. People say it has become a joke in this industry. No, it hasn’t. Divorces happen everywhere, not just in our industry. At least we handled it in a nicer way,” she said.

(I don’t know why he suddenly started saying, ‘Pack my bag, I want to go. I will leave you.’ It felt so strange. Laksh, you don’t say things like this. If you say this to papa, even he will start crying. Don’t you like us? Then why do you say you will leave the house? Sara Khan on trolling, faith labels and marrying Krish Pathak | Exclusive

Sara Khan and Krish Pathak recently tied the knot, and the actress has now opened up about facing online trolling, her family’s reaction, and the meaning behind their multiple wedding ceremonies. Speaking candidly in an exclusive chat with midday, Sara made it clear that while the noise outside was loud, their personal journey was rooted in love and mutual respect. Sara Khan reacts to trolls and criticism towards inter-faith marriage Reflecting on the criticism they received, Sara said, “It wasn’t difficult for us at all. We didn’t even realize it. It was very difficult for the people of the world.” She shared that their families were nothing but supportive. “They care when they love you, they care for your happiness. And that’s what our parents did,” she explained, adding that both families ensured emotional harmony while respecting how they wanted to get married. However, social media reactions were far from kind. “We saw that the rest of the people were very angry. Why?” she questioned, before pointing out, “This is the work of society, whose face you don’t know, whose name you don’t know. But they keep giving their opinions.” Sara emphasised that neither she nor Krish paid heed to such remarks. “We are happy and we don’t consider it at all any inter-casting. Because we are all Indians at the end,” she said firmly. Sara also addressed sensational headlines that linked her marriage to religious identity. “When we saw the headlines, the first headline was that Ramayan’s Lakshman’s daughter-in-law,” she recalled, laughing it off. “We used to laugh at that thing. I mean, why are they making this headline? I think they need publicity… at the cost of someone else’s respect.” She added thoughtfully, “Their thinking is indirectly filling the nation’s mind with hate. I believe this needs to change.” Sara Khan talks about her three ceremonies Talking about their weddings, Sara revealed they had three ceremonies, including a court marriage. “According to Indian law, we need to first get legal and then take any action,” she explained. She fondly spoke about embracing traditions from both sides. “Krish wanted to do everything perfectly,” she said, while she ensured her own rituals were followed sincerely. One highlight was her Pahadi bridal look. “My mother-in-law follows from Nainital… she made sure I am looking like a proper Pahadi bahu,” Sara shared proudly. As for married life, Sara smiled and said, “We still live like boyfriend-girlfriend. We are best friends.” Their honeymoon, however, is still pending. “Amsterdam, we were planning… but next year for sure,” she concluded with excitement.

Parth Samthaan

Exclusive | Parth Samthaan reveals his character Mahid explores past trauma

In an exclusive conversation with midday, Parth Samthaan opened up about portraying emotional vulnerability on screen, dealing with trauma, and why he believes television needs to move beyond rigid stereotypes. Parth Samthaan talks about male leads suppressing emotions Speaking about the long-standing notion that male leads must suppress emotions, Seher Hone Ko Hai actor said, “It is very easy for what we have seen for so many years that a hero cannot cry. Or a hero has to build his emotions inside. Only he can let it out to the world.” However, he stressed that reality is far more complex. “If someone goes through any sort of trauma, you have to face it somewhere or the other. And how you deal with it without even thinking that the audience is watching you,” he explained. Parth believes that authenticity naturally resonates with viewers. “At that time, the character will come out. People will sit in their minds that yes, he also has emotions. He also expresses. He also has a past,” he said, adding that it was crucial for him to truly feel those emotions before portraying them on screen. To prepare, the actor built an extensive emotional backstory for his character. “I made a proper character sketch for myself. What was his childhood like? What happened in his childhood? At what age did this incident happen with him?” he shared. Parth further reflected on the loss of parental figures in his character’s life, saying, “If his mother is not in his life, his father is not there, then why is he living? Because in a way, your purpose is lost when there are no parents in your life.” According to Parth, his character continues to struggle internally. “He is not prepared to face his past. But there are situations where people dig up his past, and that’s what affects him,” he said. He added that seeking professional help becomes a turning point. “For the first time, someone tries to find out something very correct. Someone tells him it’s better to face it than to run away.” Changing narratives in TV When asked about the changing landscape of Indian television, Parth admitted candidly, “I don’t watch TV to be honest. Whatever I have watched, I’ve only watched it with my mom, and I see saas-bahu in it.” Still, he expressed optimism. “If new shows have come up along with my show, I am actually happy and delighted,” he said, noting that television’s so-called golden era has faded over time. Parth also addressed the industry’s obsession with TRPs. “A lot of people are shaken up due to TRP. Artistically, you kill yourself by running only what’s safe,” he remarked. Instead, he believes creators should take risks. “It is better that people see what we want to show first.” Describing his current project, Parth concluded with pride: “We have brought something new. A new world, a new language. We are taking it very fresh — not like what you’ve seen in saas-bahu shows. And I am proud of the decision that I have taken regarding this show.”

Aham Sharma

Aham Sharma details about uncertain tenures of TV shows in today's time

In an exclusive chat with mid-day, actor Aham Sharma, who was last seen in Sampoorna, opened up about his career choices, the evolving television landscape, and why many TV shows today struggle to survive beyond a few weeks. Talking about how he chooses his projects, Aham admitted that decisions are often shaped by availability as much as passion. “Two things. It depends. If I have options, then these questions arise. At times, yeah, I did choose things which excite me. But at times, you need to do… you choose the best which is available,” he shared. For him, the core motivation remains creative challenge. “Whichever options I have, I try to do something which is in a way challenging as an actor. At this point in time, I feel there are roles which many actors cannot do… once you grow as an artist, you want to do something which challenges you,” he said. On consciously avoiding repetitive roles Aham also spoke about consciously avoiding repetition. “If I’ve done a mythological or historical role, then probably I’ll hesitate to take another one… you weigh pros and cons. That’s how I take it,” he said. After playing an intense character in Sampoorna, he now hopes to explore lighter genres. “It gives you a break and at the same time you get into a different genre altogether. That’s how I try to balance my career.” The actor revealed that he had stepped away from television to explore OTT platforms and films. “I’ve done quite a few. A couple have released and a couple are about to release. I’m also in talks with other makers… probably I can announce something pretty soon,” he shared, adding that timing matters when making announcements. Talks about short shelf life of TV shows Addressing the uncertain shelf life of television shows, Aham was candid. “It is definitely risky. It’s not easy to get a breakthrough immediately. One has to be lucky and be at the right time with the right people,” he said. He believes the content ecosystem is tightening across platforms. “OTT has also become conservative… originals get their way easily or big makers. It’s a tight situation for the entire industry.” On why shows go off air quickly, Aham didn’t mince words. “Most people are happy watching extremely toxic content and don’t want to experiment. New content takes time to be accepted, but channels don’t give that time anymore.” He concluded, “Earlier, shows got three months to establish their storyline. Now, in 15 days, decisions are taken based on opening TRPs.”

Krystle D'Souza

Krystle D’Souza on Tamannaah Bhatia's casting row in Dhurandhar song

Krystle D’Souza, who was recently seen in the popular song Shararat from Aditya Dhar’s directorial Dhurandhar, has now broken her silence on the controversy surrounding the song and the casting of actress Tamannaah Bhatia in the same. Shararat became one of the most talked-about songs from the Ranveer Singh-starrer after choreographer Vikay Ganguly revealed Tamannaah Bhatia was the first choice for the song. Krystle D'Souza on Tamannaah Bhatia casting controversy Reacting to the controversy, Krystle made it clear that Tamannaah would have nailed the song too. While talking to Free Press Journal, the actress shared, “Honestly, I mean, I did see it, and I felt like she would have killed it in her own way. She would have owned it and, you know, sometimes what’s written for whoever’s written is what’ll happen. You can’t change anything like that. Approached or not approached, I’m sure she would have nailed it. Like, there’s no way that she wouldn’t kill it. And even if Ayesha was alone in the song, she would have killed it. If I were alone in the song, I would have killed it. Everyone would have done what they could do best." Krystle D'Souza further strongly called out the culture of pitting women against each other, saying, "So, I’m never going to take away from anyone who’s hardworking, who’s self-made, who has, you know, who has been consistent and is ready to, you know, put in the effort. So, I feel like she’s doing big things. She’s going to do bigger things. And this is our time, and we are doing things, and we are going to do bigger things. So, there’s enough sun for everyone, as I’ve always said. Everyone needs to shine like Ranveer Singh; let us shine. To bring somebody up, you don’t need to bring others down. I don’t know how many times I need to say this. But just to bring another person up, please don’t tear another person apart. Because you don’t know mentally how it can affect somebody.” She also spoke about her Shararat co-star Ayesha Khan, praising the dancer and performer. "She’s a very confident girl. She’s so good at what she does, you know. Before I met her, I did stalk her because they told me Ayesha was in it. And I went through her reels, and I’m like, oh my god, she’s such a beautiful performer. She dances on reels, and she dances so well. So it’s just like, you know, you’re going to perform with somebody good. So your performance is going to look good. Like, when you have a good co-actor for an intense scene, you know that scene is going to turn out well. So you know if you have a good person who’s dancing with you, that dance is going to turn out well,” Krystle said. About the controversy Soon after the song’s release, many speculated that Tamannaah Bhatia was initially approached for the song but was later replaced by Krystle D’Souza and Ayesha Khan.  During an interview with Filmygyan, film’s choreographer Vijay Ganguly revealed that he had suggested  Tamannaah’s name for the song, but Aditya Dhar was clear about his vision. Vijay said, “Aditya was very clear that he did not want what people call an item song, something that went out of the story. If it were just about one girl, it would have taken attention away from the story. That’s why there are two girls, not one. He didn’t want the attention to be about this one person. If it was Tamannaah, it would’ve been about her and not the story." However, later he clarified that Tamannaah was never officially approached for the song.

Marathi actor Shashank Ketkar slams producer Mandar Devasthali

Renowned Marathi TV actor Shashank Ketkar, who became a household name through serials like Honaar Soon Mee Hyaa Gharchi, Sukhachya Sarini He Man Baware, Muramba and more, has taken to social media to expose producer Mandar Devasthali for not paying his dues. A few days ago, Shashank Ketkar shared a post accusing a producer of withholding his payments without mentioning any name. He later revealed that it was Mandar Devasthali, the producer of Sukhachya Sarini He Man Baware. About the controversy The show, Sukhachya Sarini He Man Baware, was aired on Colors Marathi from October 9, 2018, to October 24, 2020. After the show ended, Shashank revealed that he had been waiting to get his dues for five years. He recently posted a note on his Instagram handle in Marathi, wherein he mentioned that he has been trying to contact the producer for the past five years. He managed to re-establish contact on October 8, 2025, but the producer kept giving dates and did not clear his dues on the promised dates. Shashank further added that he is now fed up with Mandar's lies, calling him ‘shameless’ and ‘thick-skinned’. The actor alleged that the producer has given yet another date of January 5, 2026. Shashank added that if he doesn’t receive the full payment on the promised date, he will post a detailed video and expose him with all the details. Shashank Ketkar exposes producer Mandar Devasthali Likewise, taking to Instagram after not receiving his dues, Shashank Ketkar shared a video in which he said in Marathi, "Hello, finally the time has come again where I am posting a video and raising complaints through the video. I know that this video is also going to be trolled in a different way. Some may think, let's sit down with popcorn now, now we will be entertained again. Some may think that he keeps making useless complaints, he is the only one who gets stuck with money, he is the only one who has problems in the industry. Or some may think, brother, he talks; he does not sit still. There will be different opinions. But I am in this industry, this is my business and I do my job to serve. Fortunately, the audience has picked up every serial and the work in it, appreciated it... The producers trusted me and this is what makes this industry run."            View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by Shashank Ketkar (@shashankketkar) In the caption, Shashank Ketkar wrote in Marathi, "I am taking legal action, but for now, I am posting this video with screenshots so that you too can notice the pattern of slapping the great director Mandar Deosthali (Mandar Dada) and the producer of the series He Mana He Baware. He never raises the topic of money himself and when we raise the topic, he cries, goes crazy, says darling, baby etc. and we, the artists, become fools..." The actor added, "I don't know if 5,00,000 is a big amount for someone, but it is for me. How did I get the money for this serial Man Baware as per the par day (principal)? But the TDS that he has deducted is still pending. That means he has committed a double crime of deducting TDS while making the payment and not paying it to the government. Well, this situation is not just for me alone, it is for everyone. Many people have both principal and TDS pending, but right now I am only speaking for myself..." "If you see some interviews from 4 years ago on YouTube, you can clearly see his pattern of slapping. And he doesn't mince words about what he did with our money... Anyway, the next video will be about all the legal details. I or anyone from the team will not be responsible for any consequences that may arise. It must be said here that not all producers are frauds at all. So this is only about Mandar Deosthali. There are many good producers in the industry. They will definitely know what I am saying. We do our best and run your projects, you do your best work by paying money on time!", Shashank Ketkar concluded.
