Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has returned to host the 17th season of Kaun Banega Crorepati, which debuted on August 12. Big B opened the presentation by discussing how the team was initially worried about the introduction of the first season, which depended purely on questions and without a song or dance to entice viewers.
During the show, he also vividly remembered a personal milestone: taking his parents out to eat for the first time, which he paid for with his own money.
Vijay shares his fond milestone
In the season's opening episode, Vijay from Delhi appeared on the hot seat alongside his mother. He mentioned that his father worked for a daily pay and that he was on the show to provide his parents with a better life and a larger home after they had been living in a one-bedroom flat for a long time. While speaking with Vijay, Big B asked him to recall a time when he felt he had made his parents proud.
Vijay recounted that in 2024, on his parents' wedding anniversary, he took them out to dine at a restaurant for the first time and insisted they order whatever they wanted without looking at the pricing. Hearing this, Amitabh Bachchan related an anecdote about the first time he took his own parents to a fine-dining restaurant in Delhi using his paycheck.
Big B recalls what he did with his paycheck
Big B shared,"Ye joh shaks aap ke saamne baitha hai uska bhi aisa he ek din tha jab usne pehli baar restaurant mein khana khaya tha. Moti Mahal ek bahot badhiya restaurant hai Delhi ka, aur main apni zindagi mein pehli baar wahan gaya. Aur woh bhi kab college sab paar kar chuke the.
