MasterChef India's new season to have contestants in pairs
The makers recently released an exciting promo, revealing that this season will not be centred on individual participation. Instead, the event will incorporate pair participation, in which two people form their own team and compete together. These jodis will need to bring their creativity, skill, and teamwork to the table as they make tough dishes to prove they deserve the coveted trophy.
The promo introduced a fresh format with contestants participating in pairs, “MasterChef ke brand new season mein contestants ayenge jodiyon mein! Jinke haathon mein hoga 100 percent desi swaad, jeetega wahi jo hoga haqdar. Toh ho jaaye tayyar banne India ki pehli MasterChef jodi. MasterChef India – Shudh Desi Jodi.”
Now, Chef Kunal Kapur dropped the promo on his feed, hinting at his return to MasterChef India. Fans wrote, 'Chef kunal back as the judge, oh god I cannot miss it now'. However, viewers weren't happy with the AI generated promo. A user wrote, 'They already ruined it with celebrity now they'll ruin with jodi drama one good show is gone too soon!' Another one added, 'Sorry but it's disappointing to see AI henerated ad. Toh fir contestants bhi AI hi le aao...insano ki kya zarurat.'
Celebrity MasterChef added a new genre to the show
MasterChef India has been experimenting with their content. While they had aired the previous season on Sony Liv, the makers came up with Celebrity MasterChef, which had Chef Vikas Khanna, Farah Khan and Chef Ranveer Brar as the judges and had celebrity contestants such as Gaurav Khanna, Dipika Kakar, Tejasswi Prakash, Nikki Tamboli, Usha Nadkarni, Rajiv Adatia, Faisal Shaikh, Archana Gautam, Kabita Singh, and others. Bollywood actress Ayesha Jhulka also entered the show as the wildcard contestant. Her first dish itself left the judges in awe of her skills. However, she was evicted too soon from the show after a few group challenges.
Celebrity MasterChef India premiered on January 27, 2025 and ended on April 11, 2025. Celebrity MasterChef's trophy was lifted by actor Gaurav Khanna, who demonstrated his culinary skills and innovation on the show. The new Shudh Desi Jodi format has already generated huge expectations. Fans are excited to see how this twist will alter the dynamics of the game and provide a new flavour to the beloved show.
