Payal and Armaan Malik are well-known digital content creators. Armaan, who is married to both Payal and her friend Kritika Malik, often draws public attention for his unconventional family structure. A few months back, Payal malik was at the centre of intense criticism after she hurt the religious sentiments of people by dressing up as Goddess Kali. Now, as per reports in Live Hindustan, the family has been summoned by Patiala Court.

Armaan Malik and family summoned

As per reports in the news portal, the court has issued notices asking all three (Payal, Armaan and Kritika) to appear on 2 September. The summons comes in response to a petition filed by Davinder Rajput, who has alleged that Armaan Malik has not just two, but four marriages. He alleged him of violating the Hindu Marriage Act, which permits only one marriage at a time for individuals practising Hinduism.

In addition to the bigamy charges, the petition also accuses Armaan and Payal of hurting religious sentiments. It states that Payal had dressed as Hindu goddess Kali in a video posted on Instagram, sparking outrage. The petitioner claims this act insulted religious beliefs and constitutes a punishable offence under Indian law.

About Payal Malik's video

The controversy began after a clip surfaced online showing Payal dressed as Goddess Kali. It sparked outrage among netizens for hurting religious sentiments. As she got trolled heavily, Payal issued an apology.

In response to the backlash, Armaan and Payal Malik visited the Kali Mata Temple in Patiala, offered prayers, and apologised for their actions. They appeared at another Kali temple in Kharar, Mohali, where Payal reportedly undertook a seven-day religious punishment, which included temple cleaning and rituals.

About Armaan's third marriage

In October 2024, reports were rife that Armaan had tied the knot for the third time with his kids caretaker, Laksh. While nothing was confirmed, he shared a picture with a caption that read, “Logo ka kaam hai aapko judge karna or haters se aapka ghar nhi chalta" (People's job is to judge you, but your home doesn’t run on haters).”

For the unversed, Armaan, Payal and Kritika appeared together on Bigg Boss OTT 3 and are parents to four children - Chirayu, Tuba, Ayan and Zaid.
