It was only in May that Indian rock band Girish and the Chronicles (GATC) opened for Guns N’ Roses with an enthralling performance but this year is turning out to be better for them and the country’s rock fans. A little less than a month since then, they have appeared on America’s Got Talent’s latest season with a mesmerising performance that stunned judges Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Mel B, Howie Mandel as well as show host Terry Crews.

Performing a rock version of British singer Adele’s popular song ‘Set Fire To The Rain’, frontman Girish Pradhan sang his heart out as the band played their riffs that completely made the song their own. Sharing a post about their performance on social media, @agt, the official handle of America’s Got Talent auditions, said, “This rock band’s @adele cover was incredible. Did you recognise the song right away?”.

On the other hand, the reality television show’s official handle also shared another clip stating, “Girish and the Chronicles put their own spin to ‘Set Fire To the Rain’ by Adele. Reacting to the post, Pradhan said, “Let me see those hands ONE MORE TIME”

Returning to India, GATC will be performing in Delhi at The Piano Man on June 6, followed by another performance at Hard Rock Café in Bengaluru on June 21, before ending their month at Hard Rock Café in Delhi on June 28.

Earlier in May, the four-member band with Pradhan’s brother Yogesh, Nagen Mongranti and Suraz Karki opened American Rock band GnR for the second time after June 2023.
