As the year passes us by swiftly, it's the perfect time for a mid-year resolution' check-in. Did you strive to get healthier or work harder, or learn a new skill? How has life treated you so far, are you closer to achieving your goals, or reassessing what can be feasibly done by the end of the year? No matter where you stand, there are millions who might be in the same boat as you.
We’ve passed on the mic to resolution makers who share a mix of triumphs, pivots, and profound personal growth. Some are ticking off bucket list items, while others have learned to trust the journey and embrace the unexpected. Their collective reflections prove that a resolution isn’t just about a goal; it's about the lessons learned and the person you become along the way.
Life rarely follows a fixed script
“How are my 2025 goals holding up? To be honest, 2025 didn’t exactly begin on schedule for me. It took a bit of a delayed start—more March than January. I had set out with a clear list of intentions, the kind we all make with the best of hopes—better routines, more discipline, personal growth. But as the months passed, some of those resolutions quietly faded into the background, like the plan to sleep early and wake up refreshed every day… easier said than done,” confesses Divyanshi Mishra, sports presenter and entertainment creator.
Even though she could be perceived as lagging behind, her intention has not swayed. “That said, one intention has stayed with me: to keep showing up with sincerity. To try my best, remain hopeful, and find joy in the little things. Life rarely follows a fixed script, and I’ve come to realise that what truly matters is being present, being kind, and giving my best to whatever I take on. The rest? I’m learning to take it as it comes—and trust that I’ll find my way through,” Mishra tells us.
It’s the first time I’ve made a resolution that’s actually changing me from within
“My New Year’s resolution for 2025 wasn’t about hitting the gym or drinking more water, but it was to say yes to one new experience every month,” says Niharika Jain, creator and founder of Dumroo.
She goes on to elaborate her unique goal, “I called it ‘First Time Every Time’ and shared it with my audience, and I’ve actually stuck to it! From taking a dip in the freezing Ganga in January at 4 degrees to finally witnessing my childhood dream, the Eiffel Tower, in February, paragliding over the Swiss Alps, doing bungee jumping, and even buying my first luxury bag—each month has been nothing less than thrilling and unforgettable. It’s the first time I’ve made a resolution that’s actually changing me from within and giving me stories to tell people for a lifetime.”
I'm trusting the universe more than ever this time
“I’m a person who really, really believes in setting goals and then working toward them,” poses Ruchika Lohiya, writer and content creator. She tells us that this was the year where she had set her mind to taking over the world but the pace with which she pursued her goals changed for her as the year progressed.
“This year, I really wanted to get fitter, travel around the world, and be on the grill. But when January passed, a lot of things really changed. I got calmer and started prioritising my mental peace and my mind. I lost friends and gained friends, and I took so many risks this year which were not planned at all. Beyond the materialistic, I feel I’m more well aware of emotions and how to handle myself during low times, and that, for me, is a win. I joined the gym but can’t control my sweet cravings. I didn’t take over the world, but I’m taking over one person at a time, and when it comes to travel, thank God, I’m doing it religiously—I’m always on the run,” shares Lohiya.
Operating from a place of faith and optimism, she concludes, “Not everything is going according to the plan, but I’m happy it’s going somewhere where God wants it to go. I'm trusting the universe more than ever this time.”
Every single day can feel like January 1 if you decide it is
“I honestly believe it’s never too late to make new resolutions. Every single day can feel like January 1 if you decide it is,” poses Deesha Katkar, actor and creator.
“The first half of 2025 has been nothing short of magical. From receiving awards to hitting milestones on YouTube and Instagram—this year started with a bang. And while that brings me joy, it also brings a little pressure, because when the first half is so good, the second half has to match that energy—or go even bigger, right?” the Thane resident wonders.
Katkar, who is known for her comedic content, tells us of her three resolutions for the remainder of the year, “Firstly, make more people laugh. Secondly, create more content, and thirdly, go all in on YouTube. I’ve been creating content for two years now, but YouTube still feels new and exciting—like I’m just scratching the surface. I’m currently at 350,000 subscribers, and it’s pushing me to dream bigger, work harder, and keep showing up. Yes, I’m nervous. Yes, I feel like a beginner in this space. But I’m also very, very excited—for what the universe has planned, for what God has planned, and for the stories I still get to tell.”
It reminded me how far I can go when I stay aligned with my intentions and keep showing up
“This year has been nothing short of incredible. I feel every single month has carried its own spark for me—whether it was a new experience, a small win, or achieving a personal milestone,” shares Anmol Dua, model, actor, and creator.
The one goal she set for herself at the beginning of the year was to grow. “It’s felt like the kind of year where I’ve had something to chase, and also something to celebrate—all at once. But if I had to pick one standout moment—and one that still gives me chills—it would be giving a TEDx talk at my own college, within just five years of graduating. Being invited back to speak on that stage truly felt surreal. Growing up, I always dreamt of being a TEDx speaker, but in my mind, that goal was years away. To have it manifest this soon felt like a powerful full-circle moment in my own little world of achievements I wanted to have. It reminded me how far I can go when I truly try and stay aligned with my intentions and keep showing up—no matter what,” she recounts.
The best resolutions are the ones that unfold naturally
“I’ve approached this year with a mindset of balance. While I don't typically believe in rigid resolutions, I do believe in listening to what each season of life teaches you. 2025 has been about prioritising mental well-being, investing in relationships, and embracing personal growth with the same passion I bring to work,” says Heena Grover Menon, founder, Samsarra PR.
“At work, this year has been about intentional growth — focusing on collaboration, nurturing talent, and building a strong team and work culture rooted in creativity, empathy, and a shared vision. I’m also working toward becoming more financially empowered and mindful — goals that go beyond the calendar year but shape the kind of individual and leader I strive to be. In many ways, I’ve learned that the best resolutions are the ones that unfold naturally when you stay open to learning, unlearning, and evolving,” Menon sums up.
