In the Andaman Islands

Rajan, a 58 year-old elephant gives you company as you dive or snorkel off the coast of the Emerald Isles, on Andaman Islands.

The celebrity tusker has been featured in the 2006 Hollywood flick, The Fall. As the accompanying diver, you can gear up and position yourself so that you actually see Rajan arrive into the water.

The entire experience of watching the pachyderm step into water, first lift his hind legs and then the front before he begins to swim and play in the ocean, is magical.

A dive with Rajan can set you back by Rs 10,900, while a snorkel trip comes slightly cheaper at Rs 9,900 (for a minimum of 4 participants).

There are quite a few conditions attached, though if Rajan is reluctant to enter the water on the particular day you decide to take a dip, the trip gets cancelled and Rs 2,000 will be charged to cover costs.

The duration for which Rajan swims is entirely his decision; if he stays in the water for five minutes or more, a full charge is applicable. If he exits the water earlier than 5 minutes, the organisers charge you Rs 2,000.
