One might head to Colaba Causeway for a beer at Mondegar, but, this street has several historic structures, such as the Regal Cinema and Wesley Church (house of the only pipe organ in the city).
Another such structure is Electric House, headquarters of Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport. When electricity was still a novelty, the building housed a ‘showroom’ to advice customers on electrical appliances and convince them to use electricity (including special irons for the city’s dhobis).
But after the growing number of employees, BEST constructed the BEST House next to it in 1936, the first fully-airconditioned building in Mumbai.u00a0
