Fun at work: Prateek Sethi has fun with an experiment
What is the concept behind your new show and how did it come about?
The concept is to encourage curiosity among kids and engage them in learning about the world. POGO is trying to step away from cartoons and live action fiction and lean more towards game shows and other interactive programmes.u00a0 Everyone, especially kids, are naturally curious and we wanted to develop a show that could feed that curiosity. We try to make the answers to complicated questions fun and easy understand.
After working behind-the-scenes at POGO and for other projects like music videos, how did you end up as a personality on kid's show?
I was working as a creative person developing the show and realised I was having a lot of fun doing it.u00a0 To cut a long story short, we talked to the creative team about bringing that fun in front of the camera and now I'm here.
Has making the transition from a behind-the-scenes person to working in front of the camera been challenging for you?
The show is about curiosity and whether you are in front of the camera or behind the camera, that curiosity is still there. I am having fun either way on both sides of the camera, so making the transition to being the host has not been that difficult for me.u00a0 Plus, the team at POGO developing FAQ has been wonderful and they were very helpful to make the transition easy.
What do you like about working on a show where you get to interact with kids?
It's a lot of fun.u00a0 Kids can interact with the show by sending their questions online, through snail mail, or at contests held in schools around the country.u00a0 I'm a naturally curious person and I have fun in whatever I am doing creatively, so I enjoy doing this show a lot.
Hands-on fun
