Mumbai Mantra Media Lab and Sundance Institute have invited applications for their third screenwriting workshop for 2014.
If you’ve gone berserk discussing the intricacies of Amores Perros, 21 Grams, Motorcycle Diaries or On the Road, this is the workshop to be a part of. Give that half-baked screenplay another nudge and submit it for the Mumbai Mantra Media Lab and Sundance Institute’s prestigious screenwriting workshop by June 1. A unique platform to promote Indian talent and their original content, this is supported by the likes of Robert Redford.

The Lab is open to Indian nationals, Indians living overseas, people of Indian origin and mixed Indian parentage. Screenplays can be in any regional language as well as English, however English is ideal for the application. Send a two-page synopsis, an artistic statement on the project, a cover letter with a bio and contact details with the first five pages of the screenplay.
Creative advisors for the workshops of 2012-13 include Guillermo Arriaga (Amores Perros, 21 Grams), Jose Rivera (Motorcycle Diaries, On The Road), Michael Goldenberg (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix), Bill Wheeler (The Reluctant Fundamentalist, The Hoax), Asif Kapadia (The Warrior, Senna), Habib Faisal (Do Dooni Chaar, Ishaqzaade) and Sabrina Dhawan (Monsoon Wedding). Last year’s screenwriting fellow, actor Renuka Shahane summed it nicely: “I’ve never got something like this in my life. It got a validation of the fact that I can write.”
