Kavish was pursuing higher studies in the United States. He had also got himself a nice job alongside his studies. The only child of his parents, Kavish made it a point to speak to his parents at least once in three days. Mr. and Mrs. Batra lived in Hyderabad and looked forward to their weekly calls with Kavish. With severe joint pains, Mrs. Batra could no longer roam around and do all the household chores as before. It had been two years, almost around the same time as Kavish had gone abroad to study. The doctors had tried all possible treatments but to no avail. Mrs. Batra had to be confined to a wheelchair. It had been difficult for both of them to accept this change in their life, but knowing that they didn’t have any other option, they decided to accept it and move on with their lives.

Mr. Batra had become her shadow ever since that day. He never stepped out of the house even for a minute and was always by Mrs. Batra’s side, attending to all her needs. After dinner that night, as they retired to bed, they were looking forward to their customary call with Kavish. Kavish was just beginning his day in the US. He had some great news for his parents. His leave had got sanctioned and he was all set to come to India for Diwali. He would be meeting them after two long years. His excitement knew no bounds. Even Mr. and Mrs. Batra were over the moon with this news.

Mr. Batra started the Diwali cleaning the very next day, though Diwali was 2 weeks away. They wanted everything to be spic and span when Kavish came home. Mrs. Batra piped in with her instructions and also helped Mr. Batra wipe and dust the many artifacts that adorned the showcase cabinet in their living room. Though her movement was restricted and limited, her enthusiasm knew no bounds. They couldn’t wait for their son to come home.

Mrs. Batra had planned all the meals and goodies that she would feed her son while he was here. She wrote down a list of all the snacks that Kavish loved, that she would get the cook to make in the days to come. But Mr. Batra was wondering how he could get Kavish’s all-time favourite Badaam ki Jaali from the sweetmeat shop they used to go to when Kavish was a kid. He loved that sweet and Mr. Batra wanted to get him that as a welcoming gift after two long years. He had not left Mrs. Batra alone for more than 10 minutes and this shop was far away. Going all the way there and buying the sweets would easily take half a day. How could he leave Mrs. Batra alone for so long? The maid also had gone to her village and wasn’t expected to come back any time before Diwali.

And as he kept wondering, it was as if the Gods above had heard his pleas and answered his requests. The family WhatsApp group mentioned LoveLocal, the online platform where one could get all kinds of merchants – from local grocery stores, to bakeries, to supermarkets, general stores and medical stores across the city. Many of Mr. Batra’s cousins were using it and finding it extremely beneficial. Extremely user friendly and easy to navigate, everything was available at the click of a button and with a complete choice for the buyer. The site also recommended sweet shops near me and could home deliver whatever was ordered. This was the perfect thing Mr. Batra wanted. Shortly thereafter, he got on the site and explored it fully. He was like a child with a new toy for the next few days, scouting and understanding the site and its many advantages and offers. LoveLocal was indeed a super easy to understand online platform with an extremely user-friendly interface, suitable for all generations.

As a test order, Mr. Batra ordered small things from grocery stores close to home. Satisfied with the service, he looked for sweet and farsan shops nearby from where he could order the mithai, Kavish’s favourite Badaam ki Jaali. When their regular sweetmeat shop appeared in the top search lists on LoveLocal, his joy knew no bounds. LoveLocal also provided options of dry fruit and nut shops, along with various sweet and farsan shops to choose from. The mithai was delivered at Mr. Batra’s home, freshly prepared and in the most hygienic manner, with the best packing. The sweets that Mr. and Mrs. Batra wanted, while welcoming Kavish back home, was ready at their doorstep. Kavish’s sweet cravings had the perfect solution, all thanks to LoveLocal. The Diwali celebration in the Batra household was complete with both Kavish and his favourite sweets.
