What's technology got to do with it? Lots, says world famous sex-tech expert Regina Lynn
If cybersex sounds like a fancy far-from-reality term to you, it's time you got all the dope on how technology can work wonders at heightening your levels of ecstasy. Read on to brace yourself for the new-age sexual revolution...
Sexual Revolution 2.0u2026 Whazzat?
It's the convergence of sex and technology u2014 computers, the internet and e-communication, that has lead to a high-powered social revolution mapping the entire world.u00a0u00a0
"The internet is having an even greater impact on sex and relationships than the arrival of The Pill in the 1960s. There is much talk about the negative aspects of this change, but like any new tech, you can use it for good purposes as well!" assures sex-tech evangelist expert Regina Lynn.
Faayda kya?
Of course, sex beyond geographical boundaries. But there's more, too u2014 "Some of the obvious benefits are the ability to flirt and communicate with each other more easily, the opportunity to meet like-minded people you would not otherwise have met, and the equal access that men and women now have to sexual material," informs the sexpert. What's more, we learn the art of expressing ourselves through words. Women especially want to hear more words and more flirting, she emphasizes.
Sexual self discovery
You can also learn about your sexuality, romantic dreams, desires and how well (or badly!) you support your partner, by spending time researching online and talking with other people, Regina reveals. "The more you know about yourself u2014 and the more honest you are about your true desires and fears u2014 the more present and secure you can be with partners."
Be open-minded
If you approach sex-tech with an open mind and a willingness to experiment, you can take these modern tools and add fun, pleasure and intimacy to your sex life. We have an opportunity to play in new ways with an age-old game, says the specialist. "Anything we don't like, we don't have to do or do again."
But sex is so personal!
One of the reasons we have so many problems with sex and sexuality is that we hide it in the cloak of shame and then claim that we're just keeping it private, Regina believes. "You are always able to click to another page if you see something online that offends you. And when you're in a private, sensual space with a lover, you're not thinking about public discourse about sex, or how some people try to use sex to get media attention."
Ignorance ain't bliss
If you think cybersex is all virtual, unreal and unnecessary, you're missing out on a lot! "It'll be there for you when they are ready. If you're not ready or open to it, then it is going to feel silly or even trashy. Technology doesn't replace human touch or connection; it adds to it. It's about using what tech has to offer as part of your intimacy, whether it's just for you or for you and a partner."

Word of caution
Anything you put on the Internet or share over a mobile phone could be posted all over the web within five minutes. If you're not comfortable with the whole world seeing it, don't share it. Period.
Flipside Funda
"Everyone loves stories about internet infidelity, porn addiction, cybersex obsession, active pedophilia, online dishonesty.u00a0 But then, people are people, and the internet is people, so you're going to get all the same bad stuff, both online and offline!" says Regina.
