If she loves me (like her pal says) why's she with him?

If she loves me (like her pal says) why's she with him?

Dear Diana,
My girlfriend and I were in a distant relationship. We were together for around two and a half years. We broke up a few days ago because I caught her cheating on me with a guy she met on Facebook. Now, a common friend tells me that my gal still loves me but is afraid I might not accept her back.

Thing is, she's still with that guy. I love her a lot even after all this, but am afraid I won't be able to trust her again even if if she returns to me. How do I deal with the situation? If she really loves me, why is she still with that guy?
Please help me understand.

Dear Friend,
My rule on this is: unless you hear it from the horse's mouth, it isn't true. If she hasn't told you that she's still in love with you, she probably isn't. It's quite possible that she may have moved on. You are chasing after the notion that the two of you have unfinished business.

For all you know, you may be barking up the wrong tree. In her case, she has moved on and this friend of hers might simply be trying to stir trouble or optimistically speaking, just be trying to help you get back together and may have the best intentions at hear. Either way, to get closure on this, you will have to ask her about the relationship status you two now share.

Not looking for a relationship

Dear Diana,

I'm a fairly good-looking and popular girl. My problem is that if I get friendly with any boy, he starts thinking that I'm interested in him. I am not looking for a relationship and don't want to hurt anyone.

Dear Friend,
Why give him the benefit of doubt? Make it very clear that you just wanna be friends and nothing more. If he expects nothing, he will want nothing. And you won't be hurting anyone. Nothing wrong at all with being selfish about yourself.

Who has my son's eyes?

Dear Diana,

I am a retired man aged 61 who lost his 21-year-old only son in an accident eight years ago. I decided to donate his eyes. But in all these years I haven't been able to stop thinking about my son's eyes-and the person who received them. I have spent sleepless nights wonderingu00a0-- do I have the right to know who received my son's eyes? Are my son's eyes still alive? What can I do?

Name withheld

Dear Friend,
Even if you did find the recepient of your son's eyes, you really wouldn't be able to do much about. Spending time with the person who received his eyes won't bring him back. Neither will it be the same thing as having your son around. Do you have the right to know who received his eyes? I should think so. If in use, I guess you can say they're 'alive' but why are you spending so much energy worrying about it. Whosoever this person is, must be thanking you and your son. Leave it at that and let it be.
