Dear Diana,I am a 23-year-old gay. My best friend and I become boyfriends about sux months ago after five years of relationships with others that never worked out for various reasons.

I moved to Delhi, and even bought a house there though I had no reason to be in the city except for him. I am well-off, unlike him, and I got him a car to get around.

I pay the majority of his bills including cellphone and petrol. We loved each other very much. We had a bad break up a week ago as he doesn't want o be with me anymore.

He says I hurt him emotionally by constantly pushing him to excel as a person and a professional. He doesn't want to stop living together and has been sleeping in the spareu00a0 bedroom.

I've told him if it's truly over, then he should move out and return my car and the countless other creature comforts he enjoyed as my BF.

Is this wrong of me? He says that I am being selfish and mean. I don't know how I would cope with him bringing other guys home.

He says that there is a possibility of us getting back together in the coming weeks if I can prove to him that I am worthy of him. I am feeling helpless and bitter at the whole situation. Any suggestions?

GP
Dear GP,

Regardless of who earns more, you should be paying bills equally or at least sharing responsibility equally. Anyway that is in the past now. If this guy had any self-respect, he would've offered and insisted on paying for things.

Basically he was living off you, and looks like he wants to continue doing the same. You shouldn't feel bad about wanting your car back.

Ask him to move out. And starting immediately, stop making his life comfortable. Don't let him emotionally blackmail you. If he doesn't want to be with you, he shouldn't want any stuff from you either. No man should ever tell you "we can get back together if you can prove to me you are worthy of me."

You know your own self worth and it should never be decided by someone else. This guy ended things with you and that was his decision and honestly, it sounds like his loss.

He kissed me, I am confused!

Dear Diana,

I am 18. I recently got au00a0 boyfriend, and I really like him. The other day he kissed me on the cheek, and I didn't know what to do. I want to show him that I care about him, and I liked it when he kissed me. I just don't know how to respond!

Vidisha
Dear Vidisha,

Well, do whatever comes naturally. You could give him a smile, a hug, rest your head on his shoulder or simply hold his hand.

There is no hard and fast rule about what one must do in such situations. It's the best feeling in the world. Just don't overthink it.

My sister flirts with my boyfriend...

Dear Diana,

I am 17 and have really low self esteem. My older sister (who is 19) is slimmer and prettier than me. She can flirt with anyone.

I'm getting used to the fact that men always like her more. Until last weekend. I met this boy called Sam. He's a bit older than me but we talked a lot about music and really hit it off.

Recently my sister got wind of my potential boyfriend. Whenever he comes over, she flirts with him. She has also been sending him text messages.

I told my mum about it, but she says I'm being dramatic and my sister and she wouldn't do that to me. My sister just laughs. What should I do?

Shaila
Dear Shaila,

Keep your head up. If your sister doesn't love you enough to understand how much that hurts you, then nothing you say will change that. In the future, be more guarded with sharing your boyfriend's details. Meet him for a date away from your house.

Don't give him your home phone number. Get a cell phone and put a password on it. Boys do not need to meet your family all the time, especially with someone like your sister in your family.

Hopefully your sister will mature one of these days so you can trust her around you. But don't count on it.

Just remember you have many years of college ahead of you and you will get to meet lots of boys, away from your interfering sister.
