Love hot dogs? Now, you get to bite into a mini version of it at the upcoming Desi Deli outlet in Andheri. The café, scheduled to open this week, will feature a curated alcohol selection and a new food menu.

“The one feedback we received from our customers at Bandra was that our hot dogs and burgers would work really well with a chilled beer or glass of wine. So, we thought of opening a space that gives people the Desi Deli food experience but with good drinks,” says Lolita Sarkar, creative chef and director.

There will be craft beer, wine, fruit sangrias and beer cocktails like Micheladas and Monacos, priced between Rs 300 and Rs 500. The place will seat 40 people, inside and outside. The interiors will feature a black-and-white Chevron theme and a wall filled with small elements we’ve grown up using — plastic hot water bottles and cylinders.

“The food will focus on small eats. There will be Chorizo Samosa, Beef Sliders, Desi Buffalo Wings, Lentil Cheese Balls… anything that goes well with beer or wine,” adds Sarkar. The food additions are Tuna Burger, Buff Kebab Burger, two new Desi dogs, a Buff Slider with spicy orange jam and Tuna Crisp — tuna patty with pickled radish on a crisp sago papad. The chota dogs will feature spicy, sweet and tangy dogs on one plate. The spicy dog will be served with fried chilli, tomato chutney and hot sauce; the tangy one with radish mayo, kasundi and microgreens, and the sweet dog with cheddar, caramelised onions and spicy orange jam. Everything is priced between Rs 200 and Rs 350.

The cafe will be open for lunch and dinner; they’re also planning on introducing a special breakfast menu on Sundays.
