Food: Good
Service: Quick
Ambiance: Bright
Wafflist has announced its arrival in Bandra. All of us, who have had our noses deep into Enid Blyton’s titles such as The Magic Faraway Tree or The Book of Brownies, have drooled over waffles, scones and crumpets in our imagination. Hoping that Wafflist will bring our fantasy alive, we headed ready for our dose of sugar rush.

As soon as we entered, we realised that there is really not much space to do much except place your order. The neatly done up take-away done in white, red and orange decor has walls that egg you to either fall in love or be a ‘Wafflist’. Heading to dessert heaven is always memorable with kids and I made a mental note to get their feedback too.
There are six waffle combinations to choose from. I ordered the basic option, Honey and Pepper (Rs 100) which was delicious but could have been memorable with a generous sprinkling of pepper. The kids sank their teeth into Chocoloaded (Rs 120), Cookie Rookie (Rs 130), XOXO (Rs 150), Checkmate (Rs 140), and Nutty Buddy (Rs 150). All the waffles can be had with a scoop of ice cream (Rs 40 per scoop). You can also add your own toppings and ‘make your own waffle’.
We tried Chocoloaded, which turns out to be three kinds of chocolates — dark and white chocolate, and nutella. Next, we sampled Cookie Rookie — a light combination of fresh cream and oreo crumbled on to the waffle. Delicious to the T, we quickly finished that.
We also tried XOXO that is strawberry preserve and chocolate heaped over a waffle, giving it a sweet-sour finish. Sweet-toothed are never sated, so we ordered a Chocolate Chili Shot (Rs 30) and a Kitkat Thickshake (Rs 150). The Chocolate Chili Shot was delightful and the Kitkat Thickshake left us buoyant. With dollops of flavours at Wafflist and scores of tea delicacies now available in the city, we are only left with one wish: hopefully, crumpets will be at our fingertips soon.
