A daylight robbery attempt at a jewellery shop in Boisar’s Ganesh Nagar on Friday morning turned chaotic when two masked gunmen opened fire and fled with imitation jewellery worth barely Rs 5000.
The incident occurred around 11.30 am at Chaturbhuj Nath Jewellers, where two men on a motorbike stormed in and fired two rounds. Luckily, no one was injured. In their panic, the duo escaped with about one gram of imitation ornaments and even left their firearm behind.
According to officials, one of the suspects was armed, while the other appeared to carry a smoke bomb–like object. The entire episode was caught on CCTV cameras.

Crime Branch Inspector Pradeep Patil, Boisar Assistant Police Inspector Satish Aswar, and officer Keshav Rathod reached the spot soon after the incident and launched a search operation.
“We have registered an FIR against the two unidentified men, and further inquiries are underway,” Aswar added.
