A 52-year-old businessman was allegedly duped by a woman who ‘befriended’ him at a club in Malad. The 27-year-old first met the victim inside a club, where they danced. Later, as the businessman was heading home, the woman followed him and asked for a lift in his car.

Just a few metres into the ride, she began hugging and kissing him while the car was in motion. Alarmed, the businessman stopped the vehicle and asked her to get out. After she left, he discovered his gold chain, worth around Rs 75,000, was missing. The woman had disappeared.

The next day, he returned to the club, identified the woman as Kiran, and registered an FIR on November 15 at the Oshiwara police station. Police have filed a case against her under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The incident itself occurred on November 1.
