A 50-year-old morning walker was seriously injured after a speeding truck hit him from behind and fled the spot in Palghar district of Maharashtra, officials said.
The incident occurred in the Bhaliwali area of Virar in Palghar.
The entire hit-and-run incident was captured on the area’s CCTV camera.
The injured man has been identified as Ravindra Patil (50), a resident of Bhaliwali, police said.
According to police, Patil would go for a morning walk daily along the Mumbai-Ahmedabad National Highway as part of his routine.

Patil was on his morning walk at around 6:30 am on Tuesday when a speeding truck hit him, leaving him seriously injured. The truck driver did not stop and fled the scene, said a police official.
"Local people helped Patil and rushed him to a local hospital, and he was later shifted to Wockhardt Hospital in Mira Road for further treatment. His condition is currently stable," the official said.
The Mandvi Police have registered an FIR and begun an investigations in the matter, he said.
